LOL! sure makes the fangirls jealous! wait a minute!!! THAT ISNT JINWOON! @_@ after investigating through the pictures... is that... is that.... NICKHUN! *gasp*

[News] SBS Inkigayo for Olympic special this weekend, girlgroups to come together for cheerleaders performa

SBS Inkigayo will be doing a special Vancouver Olympic special with girlgroups coming together as cheerleaders.

Coming 31st January, Inkigayo will be a 80-minute special with Super Junior Lee Teuk, HeeChul and ShinDong as the special MCs.

Park SungMin PD for the show said, “We will be doing a Olympic special this week. Girlgroup T-ara JiYeon, EunJung, HyoMin, 4Minute HyunA, Rainbow JaeKyung, SeeYa SooMi will be doing a cheerleaders performance for the Korean representatives at the Olympic games.”

It was also added, “There will also be joint stages – BEAST and 2AM will be performing ‘Champion’, Kim JangHoon and C.N Blue will be performing ‘Show’.”

There are also plans for a video showing Teuk-academy from SBS Strong Heart introducing about the Vancouver Olympic games.

The show will air same time from 4pm on 31st January.

[News] SBS Entertainment Awards – Leeteuk and Eunhyuk Got “Rookie award”

Super Junior Leeteuk & Eunhyuk and Boom together have got the “Rookie award” in the “Variety show” category at 2009 SBS Entertainment award which was held at 8.50PM on December 30th.

When accepting their award, Leeteuk & Eunhyuk who are regular guests on “Strong heart” & “Star King” said “We will work more hard to bring a lot of laughter to everybody in 2010″ and showed that they enjoyed the award.

[News] SBS Inkigayo to have its own magazine ‘SBS Inkigayo Magazine Take 7′

One of the best music show SBS Inkigayo will have it own ‘SBS Inkigayo Magazine Take 7′.

It was announced by SBS Contents Hub that the show will have its own magazine on 29th December. The magazine for the show, which has received good reviews for its variety of performances, will feature information, interviews and making-of to the show which many viewers are curious about.

And for the first issue of SBS Inkigayo Magazine Take 7, it will be an 80-page feature for the show from the 1st till 3rd week of December, featuring artistes like 2PM, SHINee, CL&Minji, BEAST, f(x), MBLAQ, Rainbow etc. It will be categorised into themes like Mutizen song, artistes, comeback singers, power rookies etc.

The staff to the magazine said, “This magazine will present as new direction for SBS Inkigayo which has been said to be one of the leaders of music for the masses. It will be set to be the #1 music magazine in Korea to give information about broadcast, concert news, MV filming making etc.”

The magazine will be given free to the audience attending the upcoming 2009 SBS Gayo DaeJun. And starting from January 2010, it will be sold on 28th every month.

[News] Lee Hyori aims for Best Entertainer Award

Singer Lee Hyori is the strongest nominee for SBS's Best Entertainer Award.

Hyori will attend SBS's end-of-the-year awards show, which will take place on December 30. She attends as a member of Family Outing, the only variety show she participated in this year.

This will be the only awards show that Hyori will be attending this year. On a side note, Hyori did not receive any awards last year because she was ill and could not attend the year-end ceremonies.

Hyori has been nominated for Best Entertainer this year. Her unrestricted and funny body movements caused many Family Outing viewers to laugh.

On the other hand, Family Outing became viewers' most recommended variety show and also helped MC Yoo Jae Suk win Best Entertainer the year before. Hyori played a huge role in bringing this show to the top of rating charts, therefore earning her the title of the award's best nominee.

[News] No SBS Inkigayo today (27.12.2009) ahead of SBS Gayo DaeJun and various year-end special shows

There will be no SBS Inkigayo on 27th December today ahead of the broadcast station’s upcoming gayo daejun.

Because of the upcoming SBS Gayo DaeJun and year-end specials, the production teams from SBS have been busy with preparation jobs, in addition the schedule for various performing artistes is also very tight near year-end, hence there is no plans fo SBS Inkigayo on 27th December as announced on 20th December on the show.

With that, there will be re-broadcast of Star King in place for Inkigayo timeslot.

Meanwhile, SBS Gayo DaeJun will take place on 29th December at 9.50PM live telecast. [Pictures] Posters for SBS’s Pick the Stars

New posters are also out for SBS’s other Monday-Tuesday drama Pick the Stars (airing alongsideJejoongwon in Angel’s Temptation’s slot), featuring its two leads, Choi Jung-won (Kingdom of the Stars) and Kim Ji-hoon (Love & Marriage).

In the drama, Choi Jung-won has to grow up suddenly when her parents’ death unexpectedly leaves to care for her younger siblings, one of whom includes child actor Park Ji-bin (Yi San, Boys Before Flowers). I mentioned previously that Choi’s character is named Jin Pal-gan, which means deep red; well, her siblings are all named after colors — Ju-hwang (orange), No-rang (yellow), Cho-rok (green), Pa-rang (blue).

Kim Ji-hoon has hitherto played mostly clean-cut good guys, but it looks like his cold-hearted lawyer character here has a bit of a slick (dare I say smarmy?) edge to him. Interesting — I’ve wanted to see him take a different sort of role, and this one looks different. Also appearing in the drama are Lee Soon-jae, Shin Dong-wook, Lee Kyun, Chae Young-in, and Jung Ae-ri.

Pick the Stars premieres January 4.

[News] Leeteuk is chosen as main MC for “Oh! Brothers” and “Teuk academy” will perform at “2009 SBS Entertainment award”

Super Junior’s Leeteuk has been chosen as one of the main MCs for the new SBS show “Oh! Brothers”. The other MCs are Kim Kookjin, Nam Heeseok, Yoo Seyoon.

The first episode will be aired at 6:30PM on December 25th.

[News] KBS, MBC and SBS will not give out awards to singer for their year-end music festivals this year

The 3 major broadcast companies in Korea – MBC SBS KBS – will not have any award ceremony for their year-end music festivals.

MBC said on 23rd November, “This year alike, we will not be giving out awards for our year-end music festivals to the singers.” MBC started having their ‘Teens Singer Music Festivals’ which they will give out awards every year. But from 2006, they decided to do away with the awards and named it as ‘MBC Music Festival’, and have singers showcase various performances during the event.


This goes the same for KBS, they will not be giving out awards to singers this year. A KBS rep said, “Like the past 3 years, we will not be giving out awards for our year-end music festivals. The event, to take place in December, will be prepared as a special broadcast programme.”

KBS started with the annual ‘KBC Music Awards’ from 1984, but starting from 2005, they did away with it and came up with ‘KBS Music Festival’ instead which does not give out any awards.

And SBS is the last of the 3 companies do with away with the awards. This year, SBS will not be giving out awards for its year-end music festival.

A SBS rep said, “We will not be giving out any special awards to the singers this year. It will be made into a special program in the form of a festival this year.” SBS has been carrying out their annual ‘SBS Gayo DaeJun’ from 1991 till 2007 where they would give out awards to singers.

But they stopped giving out awards from 2008.

With that, this will be the 4th year where MBC, KBS and SBS will not give out awards during year-end music festivals. They will be just music festivals where singers can meet with fans and TV viewers putting up various performances.
