[News] Clarifications for K Chart winner announcement confusion on KBS Music Bank

It has been known that there was a broadcast accident in the display of the subtitle on KBS Music Bank K Chart results.

During the show on 19th March, KARA and T-ara were featured as the 2 contestants for the #1 spot on K Chart. Epik High was also contestant for K Chart but as they were not present, a photo for them was used when revealing the winner.

And when the scores were revealed, it showed that T-ara had the highest score and should be #1. But MC Song JoongKi and Seo HyoRim said, “There is a mistake in the subtitles.” and gave the trophy to KARA.


After the show, fans had raised their unhappy about the broadcast accident on the show. Even the officials watching the show was confused. The singers on stage when the winner was announced also seemed confused.

With that, the production crew told Newsen in a phone interview after the show, “There has been a mistake where T-ara and KARA’s position was switched. But it is correct that KARA won #1.”

The performance lineup for upcoming KBS Gayo Festival to take place on 30th December has been revealed!

This year, we have some special stages lined up including couple dance stage by Son DamBi and Park Jin Young, and also special appearance from the 2Days1Night team.

Goo Hye Soo bring good luck to the men.

On 31st noon, at Seoul Yeouido KBS new building, in the 2009 KBS Drama Award Ceremony, Goo Hye Soo, Lee Min Ho and Kim Hyun Joong are nominated under the 'Best Couple Award' category.

Goo Hye Soo acted in the popular drama in KBS 2TV 'Boys over Flowers' as 'Kim Jan Di' and was involved in the love triangle between F4 leader 'Goo Jun Pyo' acted by Lee Min Ho and Kim Hyun Joong. It has attracted the support of many viewers.

During the broadcast of 'Boys over Flowers', a portion of the viewers supported Goo Hye Soo and Kim Hyun Joong's as a couple, there's also another portion of viewers who were greatly concerned of Goo Hye Soo and Lee Min Ho's love. The F4 members and Goo Hye Soo continued to maintain their close friendship after the drama filming has completed.

[News] BEAST & MBLAQ to perform together at KBS Music Bank!

As mentioned before, Super Junior will perform at Music Bank on 25th December. And now the two rookies group will have a joint performance together too. The first time both of the group perform together on stage, i think their performance will be very awesome and the best christmas gift for us! This had been announced by Cube Intertainment below.

[News] KBS airs IRIS special broadcast this week

KBS’s action drama IRIS wrapped last week with a series high rating of 39.9%, and follows this week with a special broadcast that features unaired footage and NGs. They’ll fill out the hour with the actors’ favorite scenes, as well as behind-the-scenes clips and footage spanning the drama’s ten-month-long shoots, which began in March (in Akita, Japan) and wrapped this month.

Since we’re nearing the year’s end and the stations will be airing awards ceremonies, you’ll see several timeslots filled out with similar specials and holiday programming, before the new year sees the premieres of several new shows.

The IRIS special airs on Wednesday, December 23.

[News] KBS, MBC and SBS will not give out awards to singer for their year-end music festivals this year

The 3 major broadcast companies in Korea – MBC SBS KBS – will not have any award ceremony for their year-end music festivals.

MBC said on 23rd November, “This year alike, we will not be giving out awards for our year-end music festivals to the singers.” MBC started having their ‘Teens Singer Music Festivals’ which they will give out awards every year. But from 2006, they decided to do away with the awards and named it as ‘MBC Music Festival’, and have singers showcase various performances during the event.


This goes the same for KBS, they will not be giving out awards to singers this year. A KBS rep said, “Like the past 3 years, we will not be giving out awards for our year-end music festivals. The event, to take place in December, will be prepared as a special broadcast programme.”

KBS started with the annual ‘KBC Music Awards’ from 1984, but starting from 2005, they did away with it and came up with ‘KBS Music Festival’ instead which does not give out any awards.

And SBS is the last of the 3 companies do with away with the awards. This year, SBS will not be giving out awards for its year-end music festival.

A SBS rep said, “We will not be giving out any special awards to the singers this year. It will be made into a special program in the form of a festival this year.” SBS has been carrying out their annual ‘SBS Gayo DaeJun’ from 1991 till 2007 where they would give out awards to singers.

But they stopped giving out awards from 2008.

With that, this will be the 4th year where MBC, KBS and SBS will not give out awards during year-end music festivals. They will be just music festivals where singers can meet with fans and TV viewers putting up various performances.
