2PM member Taecyeon's lid hair
A lid is intended at covering for protection. Other idol stars have tried the lid hairstyle but the style originated from character Ho-sup in the 1989 MBC weekend drama "Happy Woman." That is why [Ok] Taecyeon is being called Ok Ho-sup. The avant garde hairstyle swept the fashion shows of Paris in 2008 but it was actually a hairdresser's accident which brought about the innovation. Ho-sup's idiotic character left an impression strong enough that he could form a troika with actors Park In-hwan and Choi Joo-bong who are well-known for their comical acting. And although he may have donned a hairstyle which seems to have been cut with a bowl over his head as a template, he was a romanticist whose heart only belonged to Ae-kyung. Hence, Han Jung-woo (Taecyeon's character in TV series "Sister of Cinderella") who has his eyes and heart set only for Eun-jo is more than worthy of wearing the hairstyle.
Girls' Generation member Yoona's lid hair
A lid is also meant to provide an opening. In Korea, there is the phrase that one's 'lid opens' when that person gets angry, the 'lid' to a baseball stadium will open on the opening day of a new season of professional baseball and Yoona's lid will open too when she laughs and her bangs flip backward. That is why she is now called Im Ttuggeong ['lid' in Korean] Cars whose tops open, baseball fields whose domes open and night clubs whose roofs open up are still much more popular than the typical lids. But regardless of how popular Yoona is within her nine-member group, could there be a hairstyle which suits her better? She is the celebrity who has won the popularity award at the PaekSang Arts Award for two consecutive years. That is why Yoona is Im Ttuggeong.
