Recently with the much hype of the two new boy bands B2ST and MBLAQ, I've decided to check them out myself. I haven't been able to disect B2ST yet but I came across couple of MBLAQ's live performances and boy... did they impress me. Check out these live perfomances after the jump.

This is a cover of Maroon 5's song "This Love."


This live singing was at Starry Night Radio that is hosted by Park Kyung Lim.


Maybe they weren't that great to you guys but I actually had zero expectations from them. I thought it was just another boy band that focused on looks and had songs that didn't make any sense.

[news] 4minute Under Criticism For "What A Girl Wants" Teaser?

Why would anyone wanna criticise 4minute for their new, cheerful teaser earlier released for "What A Girl Wants"? Find out under the cut!

Well, it's all because of the lack of creativity 4minute is showing in their newly released teaser. Netizens have pointed out that their outfits look very similar to After School's outfits during the promotion of After School's debut single, "AH." They also said it shows similarity to the beginning of the Girls Generation video for "Genie." You might not agree with these accusations, but it's a bit hard to deny that they don't look like they're copying (or inspired) by the Wonder Girls' "retro style," a bit as well, with them using retro-styled microphones and hairstyles.

Netizens have said things such as "What is this? Does their company have any creativity?" and "They are just bad copy-cats." One even pointed out and stated, "Are they trying to copy rookies JQT by being punk, too?!"

What do you think? Maybe 4minute/Cube is just inspired by these other girl groups.

[UPDATED] Jaebum Speaks Out

Jaebum finally speaks out after leaving to Seattle. 2PM's leader Park Jaebum who temporarily (we're hoping) left the group has finally revealed his feelings of the whole ordeal. On a KBS variety show 'Sunday Night' hosted by Nam Heesuk, Jaebum talks for himself from Seattle.

The producers of the show said that they are "meeting Jaebum for the first time after leaving to Seattle. He denied our interview request but has finally come through with a video message that he sent himself."

The video footage has Jaebum saying that he is "rethinking my actions and behavior... I am working out a way to learn from them and have nothing else to say. I think time must pass before I can say anything."

The show will air on the 25th.

[news] Rain takes over Times Square billboard

A billboard of Rain's new film "Ninja Assassin" has been hung in New York's Times Square, making him the first Korean to appear on the board for a movie, according to his agency on Friday.

Only Korean companies such as Samsung or LG have been able to advertise themselves in Times Square before.

J.Tune Entertainment said that the billboard -- almost 18 meters wide by 12 meters high -- was hung above smaller billboards for some of Broadway's most famed musicals including "West Side Story" and "Chicago".

The agency said they were informed of the billboard by a Korean residing in New York and received many congratulatory messages on his blog and website.

Rain played the lead role Raizo in the action flick by the Wachowski Brothers, famous for "The Matrix" triology and producer Joel Silver, who created the "Die Hard" and "Lethal Weapon" series.

The film, hyped as one of the 50 most anticipated films of the year by U.K. newspaper The Times and one of the top 10 movies selected by the San Francisco Examiner, is set for a worldwide release on October 26.

[News]SHINee's new album racks up advance orders

According to their agency on Friday, Korean boy band SHINee is racking up advance orders for their new album "2009, Year Of Us".

SM Entertainment said in a press release that since its release yesterday, the group's third mini-album reportedly received 60,000 advance orders.

They said, "We are very glad and grateful that fans have been so supportive of this album," the idol group was quoted as saying. "We will work hard to promote 'Ring Ding Dong' so we hope fans keep loving us."

All six tracks of "2009", including the title song "Ring Ding Dong", had been released on various online music sites on October 19.

The hard copies of their album was supposed to be released on the same day but had been put off by three days due to "problems to several songs on the album". All copies of the album have been recalled and re-produced.

An autograph session for fans at Kyobo Books Hottracks and Yongsan Media Shinara record stores would be held on Saturday.

SHINee, one of the most popular idol groups in Korea, has had several K-pop hits, most notably their debut single "Older Girl, You're So Pretty" and the recent chart topper "Juliette" earlier this year.

[News] Further news about Brown eyed girls new Music video

According to their agency on Friday, Korean girl band Brown Eyed Girls is set to release a new repackaged album and music video next week. Nega-Network said in a press release that they finished shooting the music video for their single "Sign" from their recent album "Sound G: Repackage" on Tuesday.

Nega said that the music video will also star two movie actors -- Ryu Deok-hwan and Ryu Seung-ryong -- in a storyline which is "even more surprising than the one for 'Abracadabra',"

The music video for the group's most recent chart-topper "Abracadabra" earlier this year, became a huge sensation for its provocative love scenes. The video was directed by filmmaker Hwang Soo-ah, who helmed film "Why Did You Come To My House".

The girl band will release a teaser trailer for the music video on Monday, and will release both the album and a full version of the music video on October 29

As all of you know, the Music video for Abracadabra might be quite thrilling for some
of you, now the new music video is gonna be more surprising than Abracadabra.

From 2009, Mnet annual music event MKMF will be changed to Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA).

A live program took place on 23rd October in Seoul Tower and the idea of the new music awards ceremony was revealed. Previously on 16th October, the note “This year there will be no MKMF’ was posted on Mnet’s official homepage, the change of the music ceremony was to give it a new transformation as mentioned by Mnet.

[INFO] 091023 JYPEs possible plans for 2pm at MKMF/MAMA

The cable broadcast on Mnet releases a new Awards ceromony MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) Mnet mentioned along with the dance music awards 2PM are runner up for the male group award, many fans are concerned with whether the recent withdrawn member of 2PM's leader JAEBUM will be on the award ceromony stage preformance.

Although some people are stating 'This cannot happen', in November there are no measures in whether the new announcement of MMAA's award ceromony of 2PM's new member will happen as there are hopes for the 'Return of JAEBUM'.

Along with 2PM members and fans they are stating 'Without JAEBUM we will boycott' in this strong intention JYPE are careful about the a footing 'the return of JAEBUM'. On the 23rd in the afternoon a offical accouncement has been made about the stage 'Mnet have stated that 2PM's agency has revealed that they have promised there will be 7 members on stage. And this is affirmative.

Also on 2PM's profiles Jaebeoms name is still there. Usually when a member withdraws from a group the name is deleted and it is written on the profile 'Withdrawn' this is the normal case which still exists today.

On the 25th it has been truthfully revealed that we will see JAEBUM on a variety show. After speaking badly about Korea and being chased out by fans he is currently living in seattle with his parents and gaining alot of attention. After the withdrawal this will be the first official interview that JAEBUM will do. The agency has already carried on smoothly with this case and after this broadcasting they will openly reveal things shortly after.

[News] TVXQ Xiah videos from school days to air on MBC's cable channel

Never-before-released videos of TVXQ member Xiah from his school days will be aired on MBC's cable channel on Saturday.

MBC every1 released a press release on Friday, saying its documentary program "Star: The Secret" will feature the hit idol group tonight, broadcasting clips of Xiah from his childhood days as well as pre-debut photographs of other members of the group.

One of the videos will reveal that Xiah, whose real name is Jun-su, used to a member of dance group S.R.D (Song, Rap, Dance) from elementary school with Super Junior member Eun-hyuk.

Another clip will show Xiah listening to a lecture during elementary school, singing at a school festival during high school and footage he took of himself with his friend before his debut.





A photo of member U-Know pre-debut, with a fellow trainee, will also be revealed on the show




TVXQ, a five-member boy band, has been one of South Korea's most successful idol groups since their debut in 2003. They have amassed popularity throughout Asia too.

"Star" featuring the group, will be aired at 12:30 a.m. tomorrow.

[Video] Lyn releases MV of New Celebration., Featuring Thunder

It has been revealed that MBLAQ's member Thunder, also known for being a brother of 2NE1's Sandara, was cast in the MV for LYn's title-song "New Celebration," which was released today!

The MV was released through portal sites such as GomTV, Dosirak, Melon, Mnet, Bugs, and Soribada. She recently released her MV teaser which showed her radical transformation. With her new look, she has been getting the fans excited, but with the release of the MV, they were more surprised because of Thunder's appearance.

LYn commented, "It was really hard during the filming as it was my first time dancing since my debut, but it was really fun and exciting. ... I personally can't wait to know how everyone thinks of my new look."

Her 6th album "6½ New Celebration" is divided into 2 CDs: the first will be out on the 27th, and the second, centered in ballads, will be released in early 2010.
