Beast's movement does not seem to be too ominous. By rightfully taking their place as idols with their debut song 'Bad Girl' and follow-up song 'MYSTERY', they've repositioned themselves once again with their March 2nd release of 'SHOCK'. Even prior to their official release of 'Shock of the New Era', leaked versions were found illegally uploaded through youtube. Though it has only been mere 5 months from their debut, it's unnerving to think that they're mere newcomers.
It was said that towards the end of February as they were ending their 'Mystery' activities, they were secretly practicing at their Cheomdangdong training room. Even in the midst of their hectic schedule, with leader Yoon Doojoon preoccupied with 'Danbi' and Lee Kikwang with 'High kick through the roof', Beast didn't rest. So what was it that they've come up with. Let's reveal what fans weren't able to detect through Beast's SHOCKing transformation from their new music video 'SHOCK'!

In the midst of their 'MYSTERY' promotions towards the end of February, BEAST's 'SHOCK' MV was filmed secretly at Kyungeedo studio. The MV was again directed by the same ZANYBROS's Hong Wonki, well known for directing the recent 4Minutes's Hyunah's 'Change', and 2AM's 'Can't let you go' music videos.
It only took a short glance to notice Beast's radical transformation, morphing from their previous fresh, white-toned 'Pet Idols' to the powerful chic black-toned concept.
Per Yoon Doojoon, "It's a special day...Let me see. 2nd MV. No wait~ 4th MV...(laughs) on top of 'Dancing Shoes' and 'Wiping the Tears Away'... For Yong Junhyung, with 'Change' MV, this will be his 5th MV, making him a veteran. Look at the veteran now. Standing there not even with his hair and make up done, wearing his training gear..."
While taking a break from their shoot, Hyunseung, now displaying an unbalanced haircut met up with Shinsahdong Tiger hyung for a snack.
Per Jang Hyunseung, "Director Hong Wonki from ZANYBROS who'd directed our 'Bad Girl' MV is also in charge of our 'SHOCK' MV as well. We're currently at the same set as "Bad Girl'. After coming back to the studio after 3-4months, just like our hairstyles, it seems like a totally different place. This time we want to do everything we weren't able to do without any regrets from our 'Bad Girl' MV."
Moreover, in the middle of 'SHOCK' filming, they took a risky turn in shaving off Junhyung's hair.

With his shaved head, Junhyung 'SHOCKingly' was transformed to a concept perfect for their picture reveal. In contrast to their first mini album, his pose even looked different. It becomes very evident why BEAST are future idols, a force to be reckoned with.
Even in the midst of making small mistakes [while shooting], members were able to laugh it through. Even through sleep deprivation, per members, "because we're all here together, it's fun." With choreography powerful enough to cause jeans to be torn, Yoseob in jest wondered why Doojoon was conspicuously sitting around. Although still overwhelmed with nervous sensibilities, being that this was their 2nd MV, Hyunseung, showing his charm, handled his selca like pro.
Without a doubt, the most SHOCKing behind the scene moment was none other than Lee Kikwang's unveiling footage from their MV. Once known for his sweet and kind Saeho character, Lee Kikwang branded himself with a new image. With the nic name 'Pelvic Kikwang' already given to him after the reveal of their jacket cover, Kikwang displayed this concept through their Intro.
Yoon Doojoon: "The end. It was very difficult."
Yong Junhyung: "Because I'd clipped off my hair... it must do well... it's a song that has to do well."
Son Dongwoon: "Seriously spent countless days practicing being drenched with sweat. Even though we weren't in our best condition, some even battling through the cold, we seriously practiced really hard."
Jang Hyunseung: "Because we'd poured more passion into our shoot and recording than we did in 'BAD GIRL'... and placed a lot of thought into this album, it's something that you cannot NOT love abundantly. Seriously, sacrificed my life on this.

Because they wanted to reciprocate back to their fans who had brought them thus far, BEAST didn't take a break, even being consumed by a set filled with flame and smoke. Although their faces were filled with much exhaustion, they shared the same determined sentiment, fully cognizant of knowing that the very day after BEAST was about to SHOCK the reticent music industry with the release of their MV.
