[News] SJ named as Taiwan’s Tourism Ambassadors, Hankyung to be absent from Taiwan’s concert

The South Korean idol group Super Junior, who brought “Sorry Sorry” to being one of the more known songs in Taiwan, will be having their final stop* for their Asia Tour in Taipei from today for the next 2 days, making it the first concert to be held in Taiwan’s Super Dome in the year of the Tiger. It has also been said that Super Junior will become Taiwan’s tourism ambassador, showing the amount of power this “Korean wave” possesses.

Super Junior’s first concert in Taiwan is really something, with concert tickets being snapped up at a very fast rate. Moreover, this stop happens to be on the Chinese New Year, and members have already known more about the customs from their Chinese member Hangeng, making them look forward to the celebrations of the Lunar New Year.

However, fans were disappointed to know that, according to the organizers, Super Junior’s first “Super Show 2” in Taiwan will only present 10 members, as Hangeng, Kangin and Kibum will be absent, when news of this was release, fans wrote on the PPT website that they wanted to cry, saying that Hangeng’s promise to celebrate the New Year with them wouldn’t be fulfilled.

Since these 3 members have been absent since the Beijing’s concert, fans were rather prepared. However, it is a different story on the web. At the end of last year, when Hangeng was in Taiwan, he promised fans that he will be in Taiwan during their February concert to celebrate the New Year. But no one expected things to turn out this way, leaving fans expressing that they “felt like crying” and “was going to fall apart”

[News] SJ 2nd Asia Tour to end in Shanghai, Hankyung still not present

On the 6th and 7th of March, Korea group Super Junior will be holding their last 2nd Asia Tour concert in Shanghai.HanGeng, who was not present in last week’s concert in Beijing due to contract issues, it waits to be seen if HanGeng will be present to bid his fans goodbye.
What we know from the organizers is that while they have gotten all of the remaining SJ members to participate in the concert, they have also remain in contact with SM, and hope that HanGeng would put aside the contract issues and join in this concert. However, the organizer said that although it would be highly impossible that it would happen, in the opening sales alone, the tickets have been
70% sold, surpassing their expectations.
The contract issues brought many problems to Super Junior, but it didn’t stop them from achieving recognition for their hard work. At the second half of last year, created a craze in both Korea as well as Asia, and in September, with the release of the mini-album in Taiwan, which topped charts, SJ can be said to be very popular in China too.
Last year, on the 18 of October, SJ performed at Shanghai Sport hall, and although the prices of the tickets went up to as high as 3600yuan, fans were still equally enthusiastic. 2 months later, SJ went to Nanjing for another concert, and like before, the whole place was placed, causing organizers to add in last minute tickets for standing only. In order to thank their fans for their support, SJ decided to hold their last concert in Shanghai, and will also double the concert time.
Last week concert at Beijing, other than HanGeng not being present due to contract issues, two other members, KangIn and KiBum were not around too, due to a hiatus and acting commitment respectively, causing SJ to hold their first concert with only 10 members. Fans at the venue, however, were chanting “HanGeng, KiBum, KangIn,” the names of the 3 members who were not present. Being the last stop, organizers express that like the fans, they do want to see SJ perform as a complete group. However, HanGeng decision is still rather firm, so the chances of it happening may be near to impossible. The organizers also said that they have also personally contacted HanGeng, and hope that he would be able to turn up for this concert, giving all those present a pleasant surprise.
HanGeng’s contract issues also had some negative impact towards the 2nd Asia Tour. On the January 10 and 23 concert in Guangzhou and Shanghai respectively, many of HanGeng’s fans requested a refund for their ticket. The reporter asked if they are worried if such a situation would happen, and they responded that this concert has already sold up to 70% of the tickets, leaving only about 2000 tickets left, making it one of the fastest numbers of tickets sold. In addition, most of the concert-goers would definitely be those who already saw the Nanjing concert, and are just back to watch it again. Therefore, the time, which was allocated by both the fans and organizers, is such that the 6th March concert will be held in the evening, while the 7th March concert at 3:30pm, for convenient sake, so that when the concert is over, fans can then catch a plane or a train ride home.

[News] Han Kyung Will be Absent From SJ’s Concert, Fans Refund Tickets?

At Hunan Satellite Television’s New Year Concert, idol group Super Junior-M still appeared to perform but while the fans were pleasantly surprised, they also discovered that of the original 7 member group only the Chinese leader, Han Geng, was missing. According to reports, Han Geng’s contract termination case will commence on 8 January in Korea. If he is able to get the court to ratify it, Han Geng may gain his freedom as early as March 2010. His lawyer stated that Han Geng will temporarily not participate in any of SM’s performance activities. Yesterday, reporters also found out from Han Geng’s fan websites that it is probable that he will be absent from Super Junior’s concert that is to be held on 23 January in Beijing. Organizers are already accepting ticket refunds from fans.

On 31 December 2009 at Hunan Satellite Television’s New Year Concert, Super Junior-M’s appearance became the focal point. Fans very quickly discovered that Han Geng, who is involved in terminating his contract, remained absent. Only the other 6 members performed (qing tian yu tian) etc [ translator’s note: this is Zhang Liyin’s song, SJ-M performed “Super Girl” and “Me” ]. In relation to this, Han Geng’s lawyer revealed that at present Han Geng is on holiday and will temporarily not participate in any performance activities because Han Geng himself feels unwell and needs some time to recuperate. He is not in contact with his company because he is worried it will lead to unnecessary disputes. Also, it’s because he has already applied to the court to commence his lawsuit and his lawyers have recommended that he temporarily not participate in any of SM’s performance activities.

The contract termination case for the leader of Korea’s popular idol group Super Junior-M, Han Geng, will commence on 8 January in Korea. He has already submitted an “agreement to suspend the contract” and an “invalid contract lawsuit”. Han Geng’s lawyer revealed that to prevent SM from using delay tactics, Han Geng especially submitted an “agreement to suspend the contract”, which should it be ratified, then Han Geng will gain his freedom as early as March 2010.

On 10 January, Super Junior will start its Asia tour in Guangzhou and it will also hold a concert on 23 January in Beijing. Earlier there was news that SM was using SJ’s Chinese member Han Geng’s contract termination case to promote Super Junior’s Beijing concert this year. In relation to this rumour, the organizers stated that “this cannot be promotion, the tickets were already sold out early on, there is no need to do that.” The organizers stated that at present everything is proceeding smoothly and they have not received any news that Super Junior will not be coming to Beijing or that Han Geng will be absent. Yesterday, reporters discovered from Han Geng’s Baidu forum that fans are requesting that their tickets be refunded, “it’s because there is no way to confirm whether Han Geng will be participating in the Beijing concert on 23 January, after reaching agreement with the organizers it is possible to refund tickets. Refunding tickets is on a voluntary basis, please carefully consider before making you choice.” Many fans indicated that refunding their tickets is the most effective way of showing support for Han Geng: “support this, Han Geng’s fans refunding their tickets is the best support for Han Geng! We must not let SM take advantage of this opportunity, saying that if Han Geng is not there, the fans will still be as passionate as before.”

[News] SM denies using Hangeng, SJ Beijing Concert will still be held

SM denies using Hangeng, SJ Beijing Concert will still be held
Super Junior’s Chinese member, Hangeng’s request of the termination of his contract has caused an uproar. There have been rumors that SM entertainment is using Hangeng to cause a publicity stunt for the Beijing concert and also that Hangeng may not be attending the concert. Due to these rumors, Net Ease Music Channel on the 29th has had an exclusive interview with the representative for the Beijing concert. The representative claims that everything has been going as planned and has not received any news about Hangeng not attending the concert.
Earlier, Korean group Super Junior-M (known as SJ-M)’s leader Hangeng sued SM Entertainment, to terminate his contract because of the unfair terms. Therefore it has been concluded that Hangeng will not be participating in any SJ-M’s schedule this year. According to Korean news site, Newsen, 57% of the fans who voted, support Hangeng leaving and becoming a solo, while 24% wishes he would not leave SJ. The soon to begin Beijing concert is in a nerve wrecking situation as it is in the preparing stage. The representative has reported: “Everything is fine, the hotel, airplane tickets, the concert tools are all being prepared on schedule.” When asked about the tickets for the concert, the representative also responded with a smile of confidence and that everything is fine.
About the rumor SM entertainment is using Hangeng for the Beijing concert next year, the representative responded saying “This is not true, the tickets are already sold out, so there would be no need to do such thing. Even so, there is no need to pull such a low publicity stunt, if Hangeng quits SJ, in the future, if he continues being an idol, this will affect his image.”
When the reporter asked the representative, “If Hangeng was to be absent for the concert would a lawsuit be filed against him?” The representative said, “We did not think about this because everything has been going on as planned.” The concert will be presented on time for the fans.
