[NEWS] Why Did SunMi Decide To Leave Wonder Girls?

As most of you know, SunMi of Wonder Girls decided to postpone her career for now. There have been interviews, rumors, and other statements concerning her career, but she hasn't spoken for herself yet. Until now. It is really short, but here's what I found in Newsen.

The Wonder Girls, who are listed in America's Billboard Hot 100, is losing a member as SunMi decides to quit.

SunMi, effective immediately, will stop her activities as a singer. Originally, she has been scheduled in America until the end of February, but she will stop and go back to Korea to prepare for university from March. Wonder Girl's new member HeRim (from the Chinese Wonder Girl's 'Lim') will join and continue activities in America.

People have asked, "Why is she quitting?". SunMi's company, JYP Entertainment released a statement that, "She wanted to go to university." But fans are saying that SunMi decided this because she was young, lonely, and lacked experience to handle the pressures of America.

In June 2009, SunMi dropped out of university to start activities in America. The Wonder Girls have been all over America. They performed in the Jonas Brothers' concert, and had the glory of being in Billboard Hot 100, but they have also been under deprivation because of the rising popularity of idol groups in Korea.

In October 2009, SunMi said in a press conference that, "After starting activities in America, I cried every single night." Recently, she wrote in her Twitter blog that, "I'm starving". These caused a stir among fans.

SunMi released a statement through her company, "Over the past year, I was privileged to be in 50 of America's cities and to perform in concerts, and this gave me a lot of happiness and precious experience. But I worried to myself if this was the way that I would want to keep on living."

After talks between the members, company, family, etc, SunMi decided to finish her career as a singer, and to return to Korea has a student.

This is a sad event for all Wonder Girls fans. But whatever SunMi decides, let's hope that it is the right decision! Good luck to the new member HeRim and to Wonder Girls!

In MBC’s’We Got Married’ (or WGM) the petite couple Jo Kwon-Ga In went to singer Park Jin Young’s concert to get permission for their marriage.

In the recent recording of ‘WGM’, Jo Kwon-Ga In couple properly greeted Park Jin Young who is like a father to Jo Kwon.

They decided to formally greet JYP because he trained Jo Kwon for 8 years and is like a father to Jo Kwon.

Even though it was Ga In’s first time seeing JYP face to face, she naturally called him “father-in-law” and showed the cuteness of a daugher-in-law.

Not only this but Ga In, who has always been a fan of JYP, prepared a present and a determined stage which showed her sincerity.

JYP's style director reveals working with 2PM behind the scenes

The winner of Project Runway KOREA Lee Wookyung has turned into JYP's style director. Lee Wookyung revealed what it was like working in JYP as 2PM's style director on OnMedia's 'Style Magazine 2010.'

With innovative ideas and designs, Lee Wookyung worked on various collaborations and received many love calls after winning the first season of Project Runway Korea.

On Style Magazine 2010, Lee Wookyung recently revealed the process it took in completing 2PM's 'zombie style' outfits. She stated "I tried my best to match the outfits to the individual styles of the 6 members."

In reality, Chansung and Taecyeon are tall and have a great figure so outfits that fit them well match them best. Junsu and Junho look very short compared to the others and so a style that makes them look skinny and long works better. Nichkhun and Wooyoung are the skinniest members and so they look very weak and small up on stage, which is something that must be paid attention to.

Particularly on Nichkhun, she revealed "Khun has the perfect physical attributes closest to a model. I add a jacket or a vest as detail to help him look a bit more impressive compared to the rest of the members. Khun's outfit is an outfit only he can handle. Whenever I prepare his outfit, I'm always thinking about it from start to finish."

As an extra note, Lee Wookyung also revealed a special fate-like relationship she has with Park Jinyoung. During her college years, Lee randomly walked the streets of Manhattan, New York and discovered Park Jinyoung. She raced over to him and blurted "I want to be Bi's stylist."

Afterwards, Lee Wookyung became JYP's style director and met Park Jinyoung once more. Park Jinyoung remembered the moment and stated "It really is fate," unable to hide his surprise and amazement.

Park Jin Young apologises to WonderGirls SoHee?

On KBS 2TV ‘Sweet Night’ aired on 10th January, singer producer Park Jin Young reveals his ideal type of girl. That day, Park Jin Young have to choose from female celebrities like Rainbow Kim JaeKyung, Jung YoonHye, gagwoman Kim Sook, actresses Kang EunBin, Kim JungMin, Yang MiRa, Lee YooJin, singer NS YoonJi etc.

And WonderGirls SunYe and SooHee appeared together as the finalists for ‘top 32 ideal type worldcup’ where Park JinYoung has to choose one of them.

In the end, Park Jin Young chose SunYe after much thinking and relayed a message to SoHee on the show, “SunYe is the leader and your unnie, so I chose her.”

Meanwhile, Park Jin Young chose actress Lee YeonHee as his ultimate ideal type of woman on the show.

[News] JYP embarrassed by NichKhun fans

Singer and producer Park Jinyoung revealed an incident where he was embarrassed due to 2PM's member Nichkhun.

On KBS 2TV's 'Sweet Night,' Park Jinyoung told a story after his first performance with 2PM. After the performance, fans came to him saying "You're hotter than 2PM...." until they saw Nichkhun coming out, in which they promptly started screaming in delight and left Park Jinyoung. Park Jinyoung dropped his head in disappointment.

"As a singer, I was extremely jealous." He gave off a bitter smile as he began thinking of that moment, making the audience laugh.

Airing on the 10th at 11:05 PM, Park Jinyoung will be singing his own song 'No Love No More.'

Producer singer Park Jin Young sings praises of group Brown Eyed Girls.

Park Jin Young was on KBS Yoo HeeYeol’s Sketchbook aired on 8th January when he was asked by MC Yoo HeeYeol, “Is there any song released in 2009 that you are addicted to?” and Park Jin Young revealed ‘Abracadabra’ by the Brown Eyed Girls.

He said, “I like their dance and they are really good singers.” and he was asked if there are song he is envious of, and Park Jin Young answered, “Many”.

JYP said, “When I listened to Yoo HeeYeol’s ‘Warm Greetings’, I was shocked and I thought “He really did well”. I thought it is good that there is no interests in trend.” And Yoo HeeYeol joked, “Wow, so I should join JYP Ent too.”

Meanwhile, on the show, Park Jin Young performed hits like ‘No Love No More’, ‘Don’t Leave Me’, ‘Honey’ and also ‘Billie Jean’, 2PM’s ‘Again & Again’ and 2AM ‘This Song’.

2PM's producer Park Jin Young said that he has the highest expectations on Woo Young among the members of 2PM.

He appeared on the recording of KBS "Sweet Night".He was asked by the host who is the member of 2PM that he has high expectations on,JYP answered Woo Young.

He added,as for right now,he is only showing half of his potential,he does not really know how well he can dance and sing!

Another question was asked,"Which member exceeded your expectations?"Nichkhun is the answer as he wasn,t trained to be a singer,he was worried whether he will be able to sing and dance well but he does not think about that anymore!

[News]Park Jin-young Concert Was Rated 18

The viewer rating level for singer Park Jin-young’s (37) concert was recently elevated to 18 years and older. Park Jin-young’s concert was held at the Olympic Hall located in Seoul Olympic Park, and ran from December 23 to 26. It was entitled “2009 Park, Jin-young Concert - Bad Party.” Initially, the concert rating was set at 6 years and older, but was changed last month to a minimum age of 18 years.

On December 23, JYP Entertainment staff explained, “Park, Jin-young voluntarily changed the rating level when he found out that “Kiss” and “Delicious,” tracks from his 7th album, would be included in the concert while making preparations last month. JYP staff said, "The decision was made because at the end of December last year, these 2 songs had been designated as a harmful medium to teens due to lascivious expressions in the songs.”

JYP Entertainment staff also added, “Park decided against changing the words of the songs when it was designated as a harmful medium to teens to prevent compromising the integrity of the song’s emotions and true meaning, as well as having to rearrange the accompanying dances’ taste and style.”

There has been significant attention focused on the rating level for the concert since criticism was leveled at a concert held in December 16 by G-Dragon. The Department of Health and Family referred the situation to prosecutors to investigate this case and determine whether the song “She’s Gone” violates the Juveniles Protection Law. Prosecutors will investigate whether provocative dancing that is associated with a sexual act (which was performed while singing “Breathe”) falls into the category of criminally obscene conduct for a public performance.

JYP staff stated, “The decision to change the viewer rating level was not made because of criticism of G-Dragon’s concert. Instead, the decision was made on our own last month, independent of recent circumstances.”

Wonder Girls has made the list of “100 Things to Watch in 2010” announced by JWT.

South Korean girl group Wonder Girls has made the list of "100 Things to Watch in 2010" announced by JWT, a global marketing communications network.

"With their good looks, slick packaging, infectious pop songs and trend-setting videos, this South Korean girl group has conquered Asia and has its sights on the rest of the world," it said on the Web site of its advertising unit JWT Intelligence (jwtintelligence.com).

"The Girls, who recently became the first Korean act to crack the Top 100 Billboard chart in the U.S., will release their next U.S. album in February," it added.

In the alphabetical list, the group placed 99th.

The global ad company's recognition of the five Korean members is expected to add a fresh impetus to the group's activities in the American market.

"It's a nice surprise that Wonder Girls attracted the attention of the world-class ad company less than one year after they made their American debut," said an official from JYP Entertainment, the agency for Wonder Girls. "It's meaningful that it acknowledged their potential."

Korea's Wonder Girls rank on "100 Things to Watch in 2010" trends list in U.S.

Korea's female pop group Wonder Girls were selected among the "List of 100 Things to Watch in 2010" by JWT Intelligence, one of America's best-known marketing communications brand, the group's Seoul agent said Monday, according to Yonhap News.

The Korean divas, who made their U.S. debut this past summer, took the 99th spot on the alphabetically ranked list, which said "With their good looks, slick packaging, infectious pop songs...This South Korean girl group has conquered Asia and has its sights on the rest of the world."

JWT Intelligence is the trend-spotting branch of JWT, one of the world's largest advertising and communication businesses.

"The trends explored here, which we believe have significant weight and momentum, are likely to be with us for a while," the official website of JWT said.

Wonder Girls, composed of five young females in their late teens to early 20s, made their local debut in 2007 and gave their first official performance in the United States July this year as the opening act for American Idol group the Jonas Brothers in Washington D.C.

Selling 30,000 copies of their debut single in the United States, the group also earned the No. 76 position on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, the first time that a South Korean music group has debuted on the chart.

"We are surprised and happy with the result," JYP Entertainment, the group's local agent said. "We hope for the best in the Wonder Girls' next album, slated for a February release in the United States."

On another note he said he wanted to stay as a singer rather than a producer, Park Jin-young said that "I'm going to be a dance singer till I die" and said, "I can go on until I am 50. There is still 12 more years I can do" He told his greed.

Singer Park Jinyoung has finished off the end of the year with a very successful performance.

[News] Park Jin Young, “I gained desires from ‘Again & Again’.”

Coming as a singer from being a producer, Park Jin Young (37) talks about how he had gained desire from 2PM’s hit song ‘Again & Again’.

On KBS Entertainment Weekly aired on 19th December, Park Jin Young was featured in the corner ‘Star Zoom In’ and he said, “I thought of 2PM while I wrote ‘Heartbeat’.” and currently the song ‘Heartbeat’ has been gaining greatly popularity amongst music fans.

He added, “I really liked ‘Again & Again’. I wanted to do it.” Even though he produced the song ‘Again & Again’, he had the desires to sing it personally.

So on the show, he had performed and sang his own ballad version of the song on the keyboard.

Meanwhile, Park Jin Young mentioned during the interview about his great passion for the stage, “If you want to fulfil your dreams, even if you lose everything, you will still long for it in our heart.”
