[News] Sulli Pulls Luna's Hair!

Okay, well not really. It was more like an accident. During Inkigayo today, 091115, Sulli's hand got caught in Luna's hair at one point. They were able to play it off well, though, as if nothing happened. Did you guys notice this? Watch the video again to see if you can find it.

Found it? It's at 0:30. You can see Sulli turning her head that way as her voice kinda 'cracked'? But you can definitely see Luna's head jerk to the front looking as if she fell. My guess is that she was trying to get it unstuck by any means possible. Poor girl <3 My baby <3 Hugs and kisses. CHU!~♡

Here's a closer look.

[news]Seung Jun... Is that Yoo?

Nothing makes me feel more like a moth-eaten, living fossil than seeing K-pop stars now, that I used to be beyond obsessed with back in the day, look a little out-of-date themselves. Well, this icky, elderly feeling that washed over me like a prune juiced tsunami when I saw recent pictures of K-pop’s former bad boy, Yoo Seung Jun.

yoo seung jun_20091114_seoulbeats

His entertainment agency released these photos as a friendly gesture to his fans and to show that he is still alive and doing well. Old School K-pop’s Slicky Ricky re-located to China with his family and has been diligently working on his budding acting career.

yoo seung jun 2_20091114_seoulbeats

The 33 years old star still looks hubba-hubba good, but I am definitely sensing a slight off-putting ajusshi vibe here. I can’t believe it has been 7 years since his expulsion from the K-pop scene (and the entire nation of Korea for that matter) for his refusal to perform his mandatory military duties. Sigh.

But I will always have fond memories of that absolutely smexy single greasy strand of hair that he used to rock and this ridiculously amazing “Na Na Na” MV:

[news]2PM "Heartbeat" Choregraphy brings laughter to Netizens

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Aerobic dance routine in Heartbeat's choreography?
Netizens are saying how the pyramid dance move is reminding them of Infinite Challenge's aerobic dance move. This bought a smile to the 2PM's fans.

Even though it's similar, it has a totally different vibe. The fans never thought the pyramid choreography was an aerobic routine. It's just fun to compare the two teams.
Also, the netizens are saying how the choreography would have been better if Jaebeom was part of it.

[News] Gyuri dumped by former president's grandson during kindergarden

On KBS2TV 'star golden bell', Kara's Gyuri had all attention on her when she
mentioned that she was once dumped by former president's grandson during kindergarden
times.

Gyuri said:

"I used to attend kindergarten with the grandson of former president, Kim Young Sam. He really liked me at first so it was going really great. However, a pretty girl from another class came along, and then he just left me for her."

She said that it was a shocking experience for her, being dumped by someone at a young age.

haha, now we know that her 'first love' was during a kindergarden times, moreover,
with former president's kim young sam grandson. So, is this incident an experience
for her to remind herself to be ever so cool so as to prevent such things from happening? This has however also led to many netizens getting curious about the actual identity of this grandson.

[info]Op-Ed: Somebody’s Watching…

tomcruise_20091102_seoulbeats

Let’s say that someone asked you what you liked to do in your spare time and your response was:

I like to stalk.

How is anyone supposed to respond to an answer like that? I don’t know if you can, but in today’s K-pop industry, there are fangirls and fanboys who make it their priority to stalk their favourite idol from schedule to schedule. For these people, stalking is a full-time gig. Many people, including myself, find this a tad creepy, but is there anything wrong with it? Is the obsessed fan stalker a dangerous thing or not? In some cases, the stalker gives off the idea of someone sitting in the bushes with a pair of binoculars. In many criminal cases, this is exactly what stalking is defined as. But are there other, good-intentioned forms of stalking? I think that there just might be. The fans who follow their idols from schedule to concert to event are really just kids at hearts who want to feel closer to their idol and why not? Apart from being only slightly alarming, all these fans want to do is show their support.

These fans are called Sah Saeng Fans, which means basically that they follow the private lives of their favourite idols. They do things like pay $50 just to take a cab to a hair salon or cafe or shop where their favourite idol is. These people take things to the extreme, camping out in front of television stations and even sometimes the homes of idols. That is certainly extreme and well creepy, but I don’t think it’s dangerous. People will call these fans freaks and sick, but what have they done that is so wrong?

leeteuk_20091102_seoulbeats

What may seem wrong to international K-pop fans is that in other places in the world there is a very large defining line called privacy. But in one of the most densely populated nations in the world, is privacy as applicable as it is in a large, spacious country like Canada, one of the least densely populated nations in the world? As well, by becoming an idol in a small, heavily populated country like Korea, one should understand that they will never ever have any privacy. A large part of becoming an idol is to always be in the spotlight, so where does privacy fit in that? Not to mention, these stalkers aren’t packing heat or looking to poison their favourite idols with super glue, they actually are fans. Should idols not be thankful that they are someone who inspires others and is held in high esteem? Fans are people too and they deserve to be respected as much as the next person. A person should not be put down because they have an unhealthy love of Super Junior or DBSK. Idols depend on the support of these fans, so why not give the stalker fans of the world a little love?

On the other hand, who has enough time to stalk their favourite star across the country? There should be a line at which to draw your stalking hobby. If you stalk your idol at their entertainment company, recording studio, the television station, that sounds okay. Once a person begins to camp outside an idol’s home, they should back off. While an idol is a public commodity in many senses, they do deserve some privacy. How would you feel if a bunch of girls stood outside your house and sang and screamed until you thought you might go crazy? There is a fine line between stalking for fun and hiding in the bushes with a pair of binoculars. You want to catch a glimpse of your favourite idol shopping, go right ahead. You want to catch a peek at whether your favourite idol dances to Liza Minnelli in their underwear, no way. A good fan is one who knows when to stalk and when to stay at home and write fan-fiction instead.

Stalking can be a hobby for some, though it may not be for you. What someone does in their spare time should bring them happiness and not be fodder for others to mock. Moreover, the fan is an integral part of the idol music business. Where would the idols of Korea be if fans didn’t stand around their recording studios screaming or following them from one recording to another? They wouldn’t be very popular idols at all. Whether it is creepy or not, stalking is a part of the Korean entertainment cycle. If you remove one part of the cycle, who or what will suffer?

[news]Jung Yonghwa "Even I am shocked at Bulmaejung's popularity"

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Jung Yonghwa plays the sweet guy in the drama. One look at him and you can tell he’s from Pusan. “I’ve been in Seoul for a pretty long time but even so, I still use my satoori (T/N:dialect) when I meet up with friends. “YOU go to Hawaii” (T/N: A famous quote from Korean movie “Friend”. Jang Dong Gun’s line) How is it? I sound exactly like a Pusan boy, right?”

'The world changes a little on a bright day'

Jung Yonghwa has seen a sharp spike in his popularity because of the SBS Wed-Thurs drama ‘You’re Beautiful’.

Indeed, his popularity has gone through the roof. Recently, he got ‘robbed’ while filming a scene at Myeongdong, Seoul. Fans had recognized him and were crowding around him during the shoot when suddenly; a female fan grabbed his hat and ran. The hat he was wearing is the hat Yonghwa often wears in the drama.

“Although I was a little shocked when my hat was taken from me, I thought it was okay cause she must’ve really liked me. I was really surprised recently when Chinese fans brought me food when I was in front of a salon”

The reason for him being mobbed by autograph requests wherever he goes now is because of his role in ‘You’re Beautiful’. In the drama, he plays Kang Shinwoo, a member of the band AN Jell and set many female hearts aflutter because of his character’s thoughtful consideration for Go Minam (Park Shinhye)

“Actually, I think I’ll be like Kang Shinwoo if I ever fall in love. Of course I don’t think I’ll be able to give such unconditional love, but at least I’ll try to watch out for her and protect her”

When fans found out that Jung Yonghwa is the vocalist and guitarist of 4 member indie band CN Blue, his band has been thrown into the spotlight as well.

“We went to Japan to study music. There, we CN Blue members performed in the streets and at live houses. The remaining members? Of course they are ‘kkotminams’ too. (T/N: Kkotminam refers to ‘pretty boy’) There are plans for us to make our official debut in Korea in the first half of 2010"

In the drama, his character is now fighting with Jang Geun Suk’s character for the possession of Park Shinye’s heart. His kiss on Shinhye’s forehead during a recent episode has been drawing a lot of attention.

“Up till now, Park Shinhye and I have yet to have a proper kiss. Since we don’t get the script in advance, I don’t know if there’ll be one in future.” What if there is a kiss scene? “I’ll just have to work hard at it, of course. Haha”

In order to satisfy his female fans’ curiosity, the topic of his ideal type was brought up.
“It doesn’t matter if you’re pretty or ugly. I like girls that I feel comfortable with. Although it may seem like I’ve got a lot of dating experience, that isn’t true”

On his resemblance with fellow actor Jung Kyungho. (Jung Kyungho is currently acting in Smile, You opposite Lee Minjung)

“In actual fact, I do hear that I look like Jung Kyungho a lot. There were even rumours that I was his younger brother because we share the same last name. But what do to? This dongsaeng has never even met his hyung. *laughs*”

T/N: Bulmaejung is Shinhye's nickname for him. It's an abrreviation of 수록 력적인 용화 (Jung Yonghwa: the more you look at him the more attractive he gets). Bulmae is a popular slang in Korea at the moment

Island lead singer and A.N.JELL drummer, Jeremy, sang to the love of his life in You’re Beautiful… his dog, Jolie. In a too cute for words performance, Hong Ki prances around the stage with Jolie while singing the song “Still.”

[news] The Rain is coming down on Ningin

Hoc: Thank you Rain for taking the time to talk to Ningin.com. We have many fans of yours on our site!

Rain: No problem, anytime.

Hoc: Was shooting Ninja Assassin the hardest thing you’ve ever done?

Rain: I trained for 8 months, 6 hours a day. 5 hours were spent on martial arts training and one hour on total body fitness. (looking somewhat sad) The hardest part was the diet where I could only eat chicken and vegetables.

(The press package had a note from the Director saying Rain joked around about eating noodles, drinking beers, and smoking cigars when the shooting was over.)

Hoc: How did you prepare for your role as Raizo? Did you dress up like a ninja for two months and sneak up on people? What was your inspiration?

I think Raizo is a very strong character. He was very fun to play. I watched a lot of ninja movies and cartoons.

Hoc: Like which ones?

Rain: Ninja. That’s the title of the movie and many other samurai shows.

Hoc: Describe how you felt when the Wachowski brothers asked you to play a ninja?

Rain: I love working with the Wachowski brothers; they take good care of me. When they asked me if I wanted to play a ninja, I said, “how could I say no to that.” We have a very good relationship.

Hoc: Do you plan on working with them in the future?

Rain: Yes, I hope so but nothing definite right now.

Hoc: Those weapons in the movie look razor sharp considering they could slice people in half and all. Did you cut yourself or get hurt during the movie?

Rain: Yea I did get hurt a few times.

Hoc: Wait like, broken bones, deep gashes, stuff like that?

Rain: Yes I did get cut a lot; all over my body and even on my nose and my face. But they took good care of me, and I’m fined.

(starring at his face, I don’t see visible scars.)

Hoc: Are you concerned about getting typecast? Or do you only want to do action films. You’ve done two films in the US, Speed Racer and Ninja Assassin. Both are action-oriented movies.

Rain: Speed Racer was fun but very different from Ninja Assassin. The work is much more intense. I did much more training for Ninja Assassin. But I want to do all types of movies — horrors, romance, [and] comedy.

Hoc: Speaking of comedy, and I know Ninja Assassin isn’t technically a comedy, but you had some really funny one-liners in Ninja Assassin, (doing my best Raizo voice) “I don’t mean to be critical, but you need to finish now.” (This was during a scene where Rain was tied up and Mika was trying as fast as she could to unlock all the restraints on Raizo while a ninja was moments away from slashing Raizo and Mika in half.) I’m wondering if there’s a chance we’ll see you working with Ben Stiller or in some comedy movie soon?

Rain: (Rain didn’t know who Ben Stiller was, his translator had to tell him he was a famous comedian. Sorry Ben if you ever read this!) I would love to do comedies with Ben Stiller or anyone. I have no projects lined up but I’m currently looking at three scripts. I want to do all type of movies. You might see a comedy film very soon! That’s all I can say right now.

Hoc: Well, I’m sure you just made a lot of people happy right about now.

(Rain asks me a question.)

Rain: Have you seen the movie? What did you think of it?

Hoc: (about to say badass, but stopped myself.) I thought it was fantastic. The fighting scenes were so intense and unreal. I especially liked the scene in the bathroom where you were given your first assignment to kill. It may not have all the special effects and choreography, but it was so visceral, like a life-or-death brawl.

Rain: What about the rooftop scene? That’s my favorite scene in the movie.

Hoc: Aw man, that was a great scene too. It’s the one most oft repeated scene in the trailers and at this press junket. It was where Raizo finally decided to betray his father and family. Overall, it was a powerful and sad scene because Raizo nearly died and was the turning point of the story. I half-expected Raizo to killed a few people and run away. I didn’t think he would stay and get cut up like he did.

Rain: (nodding his head as I talked) I really enjoyed shooting that. It was a lot of fun.

(Director James McTeigue goes into more detail about that scene in part 3.)

Hoc: What do you on your days off?

Rain: I would love to sleep. A good day for me is if I can sleep in.

Hoc: Ok, besides sleep, what do you do for fun?

Rain: I like to play sports. I love basketball and baseball and anything where I move around a lot.

Hoc: Oh you like baseball (I’m a huge Yankees fan). What’s your favorite team?

Rain: Lakers. Oh baseball team, I like the Yankees.

Hoc: You’re not just saying that because you’re in New York are you?

Rain: No, I like them a lot.

Hoc: Then you must be happy they won the World Series?

Rain: (smiles) Yes I am.

Hoc: By the way, do you play video games?

Rain: No, I hate games, and never play them.

Hoc: Ok thanks for a great interview, I had a lot of fun!

Rain: No problem, thank you. Bye.

I came in with a bunch more questions for Rain, but unfortunately didn’t get around to asking them. Perhaps next time. He was so easy to talk to, I felt like I could talk for hours. Then again, I’m sure a lot of people (especially girls) would say that in Rain’s presence. Everyone talks about how nice and easy going Rain is. I got to experience that firsthand. And I have to say, it felt pretty good.
