Jang Keun Suk talks about his drinking buddies, says that Lee Hong Ki walks away without paying

Korean flower boy Jang Keun Suk held his fanmeeting at the National Memorial Hall on the 7th. He said Taiwanese fans' enthusiasm has drawn his attention, "They follow me wherever I go! Looking at them getting on cabs, chasing after me on motorbikes, I hope that they can be more aware of their safety." He went onto saying that he once went drinking with showbiz friends Lee Hong Ki and Kim Heechul. Among the two, Lee Hong Ki's drinking ability is better and he drinks more, but also tried walking out without paying.

Jang Keun Suk said when he was studying in New Zealand, he thought Taiwanese classmates were very friendly, he also flirted :"Taiwanese girls are very pretty." Most Korean celebrities tour around night markets[Taiwan is famous for their night markets that sell a lot of special Taiwanese food and products] and the 101 Tower. But Jang Keun Suk does not go along with the norm, he said that he especially wanted to visit convenience stores because "from visiting convenience stores one can observe the consumer behavior and culture of people belonging to that place. Beside, I love drinking tea, so I am hoping to purchase a box of Taiwanese tea and bring it back to Korea."

He knew FT Island's vocalist Lee Hong Ki from working on "You're Beautiful" together, and he also worked with Super Junior's Kim Heechul on Inkigayo. Jang Keun Suk said humorously that Lee Hong Ki's drinking abilities is the best, "before he came to Taiwan, I had dinner with him and we drank until morning. He fled without paying!" He also complimented that Kim Heecuhl's drinking manners are quite good, whenever they go drinking they will each pay half of the bill.

Korean actress Park Shin Hye worked with him in drama "You're Beautiful". Jang mama openly declared that she likes Park Shin Hye a lot. Jang Keun Suk said that the two families live in the same area and the distance between them is only 5 minutes by road. However, when they were done with "You're Beautiful"'s filming, Park Shin Hye was too into her role in the drama and consequently kept a distance fearing that she would fall in love with him.

[NEWS] FT Island’s Lee Hong Ki asks Taiwanese fans to marry him!

On February 28th, Korean boyband FT Island arrived in Taiwan for their concert.

To ensure that they would be in top form, they ate a Korean cuisine and had massage sessions before returning to the hotel immediately. The five members performed 18 songs to 2500 fans waving yellow flags, which seemed to like lead singer Lee HongKi the most.

When he sang “Marry Me”, asking if his fans would marry him, excited fans screamed “Yes”! During leader Choi Jonghoon’s performance onstage, HongKi suddenly went offstage among the fans to shake hands with them, causing the crowd to lose control. 

The excited fans refused to leave the concert venue after the show ended, causing FT Island to reappear on stage to promise them a bigger and better performance next time, before they would contentedly leave.

[News] Lee Hong Ki Sends Cheers For C.N. Blue

Lee Hong Ki left a message on FT Island fan site on January 21st “I’m so happy that we have a team that does band music with us. I want to spread various music with them.”

Lee Hongki and CNBLUE are a brother group that has been together since their trainee days under FNC Music. CNBLUE even appeared as a guest at FT Island’s Seoul concert. Lee Hong ki is especially close with CNLBUE lead vocal Jung Yong Hwa by appearing on SBS drama ‘You are beautiful’ together.

FT Island members responded to the friendship by attending CNBLUE debut showcase on January 14th.
Lee Hongki, who just finished recording KBS 2TV ‘Let’s go Dream Team’ expressed their friendship with CNBLUE by singing ‘I’m a loner’ while recording the show.

Lee Hongki continued to show his delight and joy for CNBLUE debut by saying, “Lately, everyday is so much fun. I’ve been jealous of other singers hanging out with singers under the same managment but finally!! FT Island has a family too!”

Lee Hongki also added “It’s been lonely being the only band among dance groups but now! I’m so happy that we can work as a band together.”
He also asked his fans to cheer for CNBLUE, “I believe that Primadonna feel the same way.”

Finally Lee Hongki ended the message with “While there are only few bands lately, even though both FT Island and CNBLUE lack so much compared to sunbaes but we are working hard together to spread the band genre. So I hope Primadonna work together with CNBLUE fans too. And we’ll come back with awesome music.”

Meanwhile, CNBLUE is a 4 member band with Jung Yong Hwa, Lee Jong Hyun, Lee Jung Shin, and Kang Min Hyuk that has been working as an indie band in Japan before launching a successful debut in Korea. Their title song ‘I’m a loner’ is most noted for its bright and rythemic guitar and is ranking #1 on various music charts.

Members of the faux boyband ANJELL from the mania kdrama You Are Beautiful reunited in the broadcasting station’s year end awards. Cast members Jung Yonghwa, Lee Hongki, and Park Shin Hye were led by their hyungnim Jang Geun Suk in performing for one last time as their characters in the drama… must to the delight of fans worldwide.

[News]Lee Hongki Revealed His First Love

FT Island’s Lee Hongki revealed that his first love was during his high school days, while he had his first kiss when he was still a middle schooler.

Lee Hongki participated in the recording of KBS 2TV “Star Golden Bell” recently and he won the poll “Person of the opposite sex that you will be attracted to the fastest“.

Lee Hongki attracted the attention of other female celebrities during the recording. Brown Eyed Girl member, Narsha, picked Lee Hongki and said that, “I don’t have feelings for someone at his young age but somehow, there’s a feel when I look into his eyes.”

Following this, the MC Ji Seokjin asked, “When did Lee Hongki have his first love?” and he answered, “During the first year of my high school.”

“My first kiss was actually in middle school. However, it was only during my high school days when I found my first love,” Lee Hongki revealed while smiling away.

[News] “You’re Beautiful”’s Lee Hongki’s “Very Good Words” Proposal, Really Made Park Shinhye Tear

As the drama “You’re Beautiful” comes to an end, it was said that the scene whereby FT Island’s Lee Hongki sang “Very Good Words” left the deepest impression in viewers.

Lee Hongki, who debuted as a child actor, returned to acting after his singing activities, for the SBS Wed-Thu drama “You’re Beautiful“. Being the vocal of FT Island, Lee Hongki plays the role of Jeremy, a drummer of the band A.N.JELL in the drama, who has a bright character, receiving lots of love from the viewers.

Viewers picked the scene whereby Lee Hongki proposed with the song ”Very Good Words“, as the most impressive scene in the drama.

This particular scene was shown in episode 14 which was aired earlier on 19th November. The part where Lee Hongki sang the MBC award winning nursery song “Very Good Words“, left viewers teary.

Lee Hongki recalled the episode, “Our director told me to act according to my feelings and emotion, so I immersed myself totally in that scene. Our lighting director, staff and Shinhye actually teared during the filming. ” He was also shocked by the response of viewers.

He also said that, “In ‘You’re Beautiful‘, I’m not a singer but an actor Lee Hongki. It was comfortable acting in a drama which talks about the story of an idol group.”

He expressed that he would like to participate in season 2 of “You’re Beautiful” if there is one. He would want to take part in it even if it’s just a cameo appearance and said that, “I also want to produce A.N.JELL as an idol group.”

Just like his character in the drama, he is also the atmosphere creator at the filming set. At the previous Chuseok festival, he also gave a treat to all the staff using his own expenses to express his thanks.

It is his dream to be an actor who can touch the hearts of his viewers. He also said that he wanted to try acting as a villain. He also mentioned how thankful he was to the fans who came all the way to the filming set. “Our drama as well as FT Island fans brought Samgyetang and Seolleongtang over to the filming set for us, and it really gave us lots of strength.”

“You’re Beautiful“, which had created hot topics during its airing, came to an end on 26th November with its 16th episode. The slot will be replaced by drama “Will It Snow At Christmas” on 2nd December.

[News] Jeremy Invites Lucky Fans From “You’re Beautiful” Message Homepage To FT Island’s Concert

As the SBS Wed-Thu drama “You’re Beautiful” comes to an end, FT Island’s Lee Hongki, who acted as Jeremy in the drama, drew lots from the many fans who left encouraging and supportive messages on the drama’s official homepage and gave them tickets to their Bucheon Concert on 19th December as presents.

FT Island held their concert on 14th and 15th November at Seoul’s Jangchung Gymnasium, with the concept of “Men’s Stories“. The concert started with a new rock version of “Missing You“.

Following this, it was FT.triple’s turn on stage. Besides their usual group stages, they also had solo performances, which were not revealed to the public before.

With the South America tour concept, leader Choi Jonghoon did a perfect cover of Ricky Martin’s “Livin La Vida Loca” with other dancers. Magnae Choi Minhwan sang “Magic Castle” and also performed some magic tricks using rose petals.

Vocal Lee Hongki transformed into “You’re Beautiful“’s Jeremy and appeared on stage with Jolie, singing “Still“. Bassist Lee Jaejin did a short stage of his musical “Sonagi” and Song Seunghyun did a cover of Psy’s “Champion” and “Entertainer“.

FT Island also performed hit songs like “Barae” and “Bing Bing Bing” at the 2-hour long concert.

[news] Lee HongKi, “If there is a season 2 to You’re Beautiful, I must participate in it”

FT Island member Lee HongKi expressed his reluctance with SBS drama ‘You’re Beautiful’ coming to an end.


Lee HongKi has participated in the drama as an actor, he said, “But still because the story is about idol group, it was comfortable acting in the drama. In the future, I want to be a better actor in front of TV viewers, I want to try the role of a villian.”

Lee HongKi’s role as A.N.JELL Jeremy in the drama has received much love from viewesr. And in real life, many Lee HongKi fans have also visited him during his filming. He said, “Drama and FT Island fans would bring samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) and seolleongtang to show support. It was really conforting and encouraging. Thank you.”

There was an impressionable episode aired on the 19th November in the drama where HongKi has sung the song ‘Really Good Words’ while doing a crying scene as pointed out by viewers. The song is actually one of the award-winning songs for 2007 MBC Creative Children Folk Songs Festival.

Lee HongKi said, “Director Hong had looked at the script and told me to just act it comfortably according to my emotions. I had really teared during the filming for this scene. I was shocked that many netizens and TV viewers have been talking about it on the internet too.”

Being hailed as the atmosphere-maker of the team, HongKi recalls spending mid-autumn with the staff previously, “The atmosphere for the drama is really good and it makes it enjoyable. And if there is a 2nd season to ‘You’re Beautiful’, I want to participate again even if it is not Jeremy’s role and just a cameo appearance. And also I want to try make A.N.JELL an idol group not just in the drama but in real life.”

Meanwhile, the drama will come to an end with its 16th episode on 26th November.

“Our abilities have always been overshadowed by vocal Lee Hongki but it’s time to show them now.”

We have received the interview replies from FT.triple members Lee Jaejin, Choi Minhwan and Choi Jonghoon, who are busy with their unit activities right now. In FT Island, vocal Lee Hongki catches one’s eye easily. In order to overcome the barrier of not having Lee Hongki with us on stage, the 3 “Bloodtype A Brothers” come together and said that, “In order to attain the synergy effect for FT Island, we want to do better activities.”

Firstly, they’ve got a change in their band positions. Lee Jaejin switched from bass to vocals, while Choi Jonghoon switched from guitar to piano. With an Indian teenager outfit and gorgeous appearance, Choi Jonghoon said that, “I have confidence of playing the piano as I’ve learned it since 6~7 years ago.”

▶ Heads for the game room when there is no schedule

Choi Jonghoon is chosen as the most straightforward member in the team. He himself agreed with the statement too. “I don’t like to pretend. It also seems like a problem because I don’t have much to show. I also make a lot of mistakes when talking.”

Lee Jaejin and Choi Minhwan agree with Choi Jonghoon. “We started our 2009 nationwide concert tour on 14th and 15th November at Seoul’s Jangchung Gymnasium. Lee Jaejin stands in as the main vocal of FT.triple and they released an album “Two Date” together with FT Island’s 2nd repackage album. Their music has a different atmosphere from that of FT Island.

Using a letter to express the worries for an ex-lover, their title song “Love Letter” leaves a deep impression with its slow beat melody and realistic lyrics. Lee Jaejin’s vocal gives off a different feeling from Lee Hongki’s.

“Hongki-hyung’s voice is husky and sorrowful, that touches the heart of the listeners, while mine is sturdier. I feel embarrassed to say this myself. (laughs)” (Lee Jaejin)

Choi Jonghoon laughed even harder with a humorous expression. “To sum it up, Jaejin sounds just like his age, while Hongki sounds like a middle-age man. Haha.”

Being slightly different with other idol groups, the rock band said that, “We hope to have a rival.”

[News] Netizens Got Teary After Seeing Lee Hongki’s Sad Confession

FT Island’s Lee Hongki plays a successful role in “You’re Beautiful“, making viewers’ eyes teary when he cried in the drama.

This was a scene in episode 14 of SBS “You’re Beautiful“, where Jeremy (played by Lee Hongki) revealed his hidden feelings to Go Minam (played by Park Shinhye).

Jeremy cried while singing the nursery song “Very Good Words” on a live radio programme for Go Minam.

Watching Jeremy sing “Very Good Words” on the bus, Minam teared when she saw his tears flowing.

After singing the song, Jeremy said to Go Minam, “It’s the words which you can’t accept. Isn’t It? Go Minam?” And Minam simply answered him, “Sorry, Jeremy,” making it an obvious rejection.

Watching this pitiful confession by Jeremy, drama viewers said that, “We cried throughout with him,” and also complimented him, saying, “Lee Hongki has done very well by playing the role of Jeremy.”

On the other hand, it was also revealed in this episode that the real Go Minam will return the day before their showcase, drawing the curiosity of the viewers.

[news]A.N.JELL holds its last concert

As previously announced, the cast of SBS’s You’re Beautiful held another mini-concert on November 23, where footage was shot for the drama’s final episode, which airs this Thursday.

The mini-concert was held at Seoul’s Melon AX Hall at 6pm and featured all four of its main cast members — Jang Geun-seok, Park Shin-hye, Lee Hong-ki, Jung Yong-hwa — who make up the fictional idol band A.N.JELL in the show. Even with only a few days’ notice, a crowd of more than 2,500 fans showed up.

A source with the production company explained, “The first concert happened before the drama began airing, and I was shocked by fans who showed up through word of mouth. But this ending concert doesn’t even compare to that in how much the fans cheered, which made me feel the enthusiasm for the drama for real. The actors and production team were spurred by that as they continue filming.”

Naturally, the concert featured the songs that have been prominently featured in the drama, which were sung by the actors themselves. Those included A.N.JELL’s “Promise” and “Still”; Jang Geun-seok also sang a few solos with “Good Bye” and “What Do I Do,” the latter of which is the track Tae-kyung remakes for his mother in the drama. Park Shin-hye sang her character’s theme song, “Lovely Day.”

Jang said, “Now that You’re Beautiful is ending, I feel really sad. SBS is wondering if they should seriously consider making a Season 2. Because we were scheduled against such a huge drama [IRIS], there was a lot of talk about us being doomed to die in the timeslot, but the fact that we stayed alive is the power of you all.”

After everything had ended, Jang said, “Thank you for coming to our final episode shoot. Thanks to you, I’m very happy.” Park Shin-hye said, “Thanks to You’re Beautiful, I’ve gained so much.” Lee Hong-ki concluded by saying, “In the future, we won’t be acting just as A.N.JELL anymore but as individuals, so please keep watching for us. Later on, I’ll set up my own agency and produce A.N.JELL myself.”

Meanwhile, the soundtrack continues to be a hit. Last month, it had sold more than 20,000 albums within its first week, which is an unusually high number for a soundtrack. Well, it has continued to perform strongly and has now sold more than 30,000 units total.

A.N.JELL, the idol band from the drama, “You’re Beautiful” (미남이시네요), seems to be gaining popularity as a “real” idol group. Netizens are snapping up the “You’re Beautiful” OST. A.N.JELL’s songs include “Without Saying (말도 없이),” originally performed by 9th Street, and “Promise (악속),” originally performed by Lee Hong-ki and Jung Yong-hwa. The second OST was released on November 13th, including the song “Good bye” sung by Jang Geun-seok.

Not only that, “You’re Beautiful” even had a mini concert with real idol groups such as F.T Island, 4minute, and Mighty Mouth (where’s C.N.Blue?) for the drama’s filming.

It seems like SBS weekly drama 'You're Beautiful / You're Handsome' is becoming more popular as the series' OST album is on the music market, causing a scene.

The OST album, having been released on October 14 2009, has already produced over 20,000 copies due to the amount of praise it has been getting in the public.

Not only that, the publisher of the album believes that album sales can reach over 15,000 since more orders are steadily coming in.

'You're Handsome' OST album is currently recieving good response ever since album sales were release on Hanteo charts. Not only that the song has been rising on popular charts such as Bugs and Mnet. No wonder the album is getting a good response from the audience.
