After gaining much popularity with their new song 'Bingeul Bingeul', U-KISS's Eli is now appearing on a cable channel and showing his 'gag-dol (gag idol)' talent.

Eli recently did a filming for cable channel MBC ESPN's F1 Real Variety '2010 F1 Speed Racer'. During the filming, Eli did not hesitate to show his great sense of humor in front of variety program's seniors (such as Han Min Gwan, Moon Hee Jun, Yoon Taek, Kim Hyung In etc)and received a recognition for it.

Eli does not afraid to show his funny side, which surprised the production team.

The secret of Eli gaining the attention as 'gag-dol' is because of the comedian Han Min Gwan. It was known that Han Min Gwan was the one that helped Eli in his gag.

Han Min Gwan said "Eli always provides material that can make the broadcasting crew laughed so hard. He really has good senses of humor for variety programs. I did a program with U-KISS Dongho too but Eli seems to be one step ahead of him."

Right after the shooting started, the crew was constantly waiting for Eli's adlibs. Whenever Eli said something, the female staffs will burst into laughter.

Kim Hyung In showed his jealousy "Eli and I did the same gag but the laughter that came out from the staffs are different. You guys laughed because he's good looking right?".


The promising 'gag-dol' Eli showing his sense of humor can be watched on the March 23rd broadcast of MBC ESPN '2010 F1 Speed Racer'.

[News] SHINee Key to be on a new Variety Show

U-Kiss’s Dongho and Eli, SHINee’s Key, and MBLAQ’s Thunder are going to be regular guests on cable channel ComedyTV’s new program: ‘Raising Idols!’

As news of the recording spread fans wondered, “What kind of program is this?” “Is it another dating program?” “I’m looking forward to seeing them do more variety.”

One representative contacted T-News and said, “Dongho, Eli, Key, and Thunder were chosen for this show, which is a reality program where idol stars will explore and learn new things and skills every week. Since the cast is young and have lots of talent they’re likely to do a good job.”

These four will start first recording the title video at 10 o’clock on the 5th.

They’ve all shown their knack for variety on several shows: Dongho and Eli on KBS 2TV’s ‘Invincible Baseball’ and ‘Star Golden Bell,’ Key on KBS Joy’s ‘SHINee’s Hello Baby,’ and Thunder on MBC Every1’s ‘Idol Army.’ The union of these rising stars from each group is piquing a lot of interest.

[news] U-KISS Eli, Transforms Into F1 Driver

U-KISS Eli transforms into a F1 driver.

Eli, who recently met with StarNews revealed "I was selected to be part of cable channel's MBC ESPN new F1 program. The program is designed to actively promote F1 in Korea."

In Korea, Kim Jinpyo, Ryu Shi Won, Han Min Gwan, Lee Hwasun are among entertainers that enjoyed the sport much. Especially Kim Jinpyo who recently joined Korea F1's GM Daewoo Racing Team, making him the first entertainer to do so.

Eli will be joined by Lee Se Chang, Moon Heejun, Kim Hyungin, & Rainbow's Woo Seungah for F1.

Eli said "I actually don't have a driving license yet but I will get it for the purpose of this program. This is my first time being as a fixed in variety program but I will do my best."

'F1' first broadcast will be aired in early March, around the same time when the F1 season will start.

Meanwhile, U-KISS is currently busy promoting their new title track 'Bingeul Bingeul'.

[news] Eli Pierced His What?!

We've heard of people piercing their ears, noses, lips, tongues, belly buttons, and even nipples, but U-KISS' Wushu star, Eli is sporting a piercing somewhere very different.

In a high-resolution shot from U-KISS' 3rd Mini-Album, "Conti UKISS," every little detail can be easily seen. Interestingly, on the right part of the image, a jewel can be seen on Eli's left hand. Upon closer inspection, the jewel appears to be an earring that goes through the webbing between his thumb and index finger, called a hand-web piercing.

[News] U-Kiss Eli to be on Racing Show

'LeeSeChang, Han MinGwan, Eli, Oh Seungah's F1 derby challenges "Real Life Racing" '

Various celebrities will be filmed while training for a F1 (Formula 1) racing derby. Their "lessons" are to be shown on tv.
As shown on MBC's ESPN, sometime near the month of October in JunNam, Youngam ; a F1 GrandPrix racing derby will be held. For the F1 GrandPrix derby, various celebrities will be learning and training to possibly participate in it.
Next week, the first broadcast of the program will feature actor Lee SeChang; gagman, HanMinGwan; U-Kiss's Eli and Rainbow's Oh Seungah.

For the program, actor Lee SeChang who is also a racer, will be training and teaching the featured members. He will be helping them recieve international licenses and help them learn safety regulations. This will lead them to participate in the F1 derby later in October.
This program will be broadcasted for 2 months.

[News] U-Kiss' past hardships revealed

Having made their debut 3 years ago [Translator's note: U-Kiss did not debut 3 years ago, but 1 and a half years ago, in September 2008], U-Kiss (Alexander, Kevin, Eli, Kibum, Soohyun, Dongho, Kiseop) revealed the hardships they faced from their trainee days till the day they gained popularity with 'Man Man Ha Ni', for the first time.

During the early days of debut, maknae Dongho explained that when he was in the waiting room while filming variety programs, he felt alienated and received questions such as "who are you?" from his fellow entertainers. The first person to approach Dongho was Korea's top MC, Yoo Jae Suk, with the words "Dongho ya~ I really like U-Kiss' Man Man Ha Ni". Dongho confessed that he is very thankful and that this one line gave him lots of encouragement.

Another members of U-Kiss, Eli, who has a bright personality, also revealed, as tears filled his eyes, the hardship he faced during his hostel life in China since he was 15, and how he lived on ramen for 3 months. Since he had no money, Eli bought ramen and he would eat ramen for a day and drink the remaining soup the next day.

Soohyun revealed how after losing his father as a kid, he faced significant psychological shock as well as financial distress, but he did not give up his dream of being a singer. Kiseop also shared the hardships he faced from joining the group late, as well as how he continuously failed many auditions and suffered from depression.

Kiseop then revealed tearfully that he saw his mother crying in her room and told himself to wake up. After hearing the U-Kiss members, who have a cheerful appearance, pour out their sufferings honestly, the staff members all had a solemn expression.

Meanwhile, during the members' first trip together, they will reveal their deep friendship as well as more heart wrenching stories during U-Kiss' Vampire on the 5th of the month.
