[Interview] Jonghyun sleeps with his eyes open?

Dressed in their gothic punk “Ring Ding Dong” outfits, SHINee made their debut appearance to the Singapore media on a sunny Saturday morning, at Esplanade’s Theatre Main Foyer.

As journalists from various media platforms shot their questions to the “man” band wannabe – SHINee, and to other prominent Korean figures present (which includes Bobby Kim and Oh Joonsung), SHINee stands out at the shyest bunch. Most of the time, it was Onew and Minho speaking up, while the rest of the members sat there quietly with their heads hung low.

However, these pretty boys seemed to be a different group of people all together when teens snagged a short 10-minute “closed-door “interview with them after the media conference. They are actually a fun-loving boy band that loves to poke fun of each other in front of the media!

teens: What kind of shiny objects does SHINee like?
SHINee: Spotlight!

teens: It’s impressive that Onew ranks in the second place in his whole school during one of his high school year! You guys have to juggle with both your schoolwork and your career. How did you guys manage to do that? Care to share some study tips for our readers so that they could excel like Onew?
Onew : (giggles) Study tips? Eh…
Taemin, Minho, Jonghyun : (laughing in Onew’s face) Study tips!!!
Key : Due to our hectic schedule, we only could study during the wee hours of the night. Therefore, we make use of that time wisely and focus really hard while studying! Focusing is very important.

teens: I understand that SHINee has been living under the same roof for quite some time. Is there any member with interesting living habits?
Taemin : (points frantically to Jonghyun) Jonghyun, Jonghyun! He sleeps with his eyes open! He also puts his blanket all the way up to cover his face while sleeping!

teens: …and who’s the one who wakes up the earliest?
Jonghyun : (raises hand shyly)
Taemin, Key, Minho, Onew: Jonghyun!!!

teens: We heard that SHINee has to adhere to a strict diet whereby you guys can’t eat after 7PM. Is that true? Is that why you all are so skinny?
SHINee : Not true!
Key : It’s actually a personal rule I set to myself. But well, we are naturally skinny. Our body type is just like that.

teens: Will SHINee ever come back to Singapore for a full-fledged solo concert?
Onew : We can see that an opportunity may be coming, but so far, we have no specific dates yet.

teens: Any messages for your Singapore fans?
SHINee : We are so excited by the warm welcome we received at the airport, and if there’s any chance for us to comeback for a solo concert, we will make a point to come to Singapore. We really appreciate all the attention.

[News] 2PM is lonely and they want a girlfriend?

In a recent recording of KBS 2TV's Win Win, 2AM's Jo Kwon was asked whether there were any members in 2PM that wanted girlfriends.

He replied, stating, "All of 2PM wants girlfriends," revealing the personal feelings of the members regarding relationships.

Taecyeon stated, "I'm really lonely. I'd really like a girlfriend." While Taecyeon revealed his hopes, Junho looked down upon himself and asked, "I wonder why I don't have a girl..."

Jo Kwon answered Junho's statement, "Whenever Junho thinks pessimistic thoughts, I'd give him words of encouragement but he doesn't listen to any of it," causing the studio to fall in laughter.

[News] Wooyoung wrote 3 letters a month for 2 years for his father

2PM member and BS 2TV WIn Win's MC, Wooyoung revealed a story of how he dreamed of becoming a singer despite his father's disagreement.

Wooyoung stated, "My mother was supportive of my dream of becoming a singer. However, my father's disagreement was severe."

The reason he was so against his dream was because, "He wanted me to be a normal person instead of having to go through the hard path of being a singer. Despite it all, I was stubborn and practiced behind his back. The only thought I had was that I needed for him to acknowledge my dream. After I finished studying, I'd dance in the practice room until early morning."

He went on to state, "In order to earn his approval, I wrote 3 letters a month for 2 years. Now that I am a singer, he encourages me to do well."

Immediately after the release of their official 2nd album, SNSD has been taking over the music charts, making fans realize right now is indeed "Girls' Generation." The overall concept of "Oh!" is retro mood look with cheerleader as the basic format. As seen in the 2010 S/S King Alexander Collection, sports have become a fashion trend. SNSD, who is considered the girls' fashion icon, has been influenced with this sporty trend as well. As the year 2010 is the "year of the sports" full of international sport events, SNSD has stated that they will cheer on the athletes and give them strength with their song and theme.

All of SNSD members have special meanings to their numbers:

Taeyeon chose 9 as it is the number of SNSD,
Sooyoung chose 24 as she wants to be with the fans 24/7,
Seohyun chose 11 to be number one in everything,
Tiffany chose 01, but while printing, an error occurred, leaving out the 1, and giving her the nickname "Team's Hole" with the number 0.
Jessica is turning 22 this year, so she chose the number 22,
Yuri chose 21, as it was her age at that time,
Hyoyeon had no special meaning, but just as her favorite number 32,
Sunny chose 12, putting her two favorite numbers, 1 and 2 together,
and lastly, Yoona chose 7 as it is the lucky number.

SNSD will continue showing a variety of fashion using sports uniforms, so we can look forward to it. On a side note, SNSD showed a fashion trend popular during 70's and 80's in their album photos. SHINee leader Onew, surprising Abs Show? SHINee Onew recently revealed the hidden washboard(!) Abs while he was washing duvets during the record of KBS JOY ?SHINee?s Hello Baby. From April 1st to June 20th, Onew got casted as Jubong at the ?The Brothers were Brave? musical which takes place at the Coex theaters.

?The Brothers were Brave? is the hit musical for its solid plot and configuration that had its first performance in 2008. The musical goes like this: The poor Suk Bong and Ju Bong brothers came down to their home town at An Dong to find their deceased father?s inheritance, and while they are looking for the fortune, the brothers come to understand and forgive each other. Onew?s character Ju Bong is the second son who is know to be discriminated, short tempered Seoul university graduate.

Onew?s challenge for the musical is his first and especially with the kissing scene in the musical is attracting many attention.

The publisher said to T-new, ?This is Onew?s first musical performance. But Jessica also had her first musical called, ?Legally Blond? and she could not pull it off well. Because these day?s idol not only have talents for singing and dancing, they show hard effort; I believe also that Onew will do a good job so I an not worrying about this.?

Onew?s representative of SM entertainment said to T-News, ?Onew started his singing, dancing, and acting practices for ?The Brothers were Brave?. To show good results, we?ll try our best??

Onew is currently in a group called SHINee and is famous for his singing and dancing talents, so his musical debut has been the focus attention.

International 2PM fans create online petition for Jaebum's return

International 2PM fans are creating online petitions for Jaebum's return.

On an international website, they have created an online petition page demanding the return of 2PM's Jaebum. After a week, about 8000 netizens have signed this online petition. Koreans who are living abroad, and foreign 2PM fans have been actively participating much like the fans in Korea, putting out ads for Jaebum's return etc.

Currently, JYPE and the fans are preparing for the meeting. However, some fans are antagonized by this and is against the meeting. Their thoughts are that the company is holding the meeting as a way of shielding themselves and using it as a media play.

Amongst all this, the petition held by international fans is a big encouragement for the fans in Korea. The fans in Korea are going to continue with the charity work and protest against the company for Jaebum's return.

[news] 2PM visits Taecyeon's drama filming set

The still cuts for Taecyeon has been released as he embarks on his acting debut.

Taecyeon received the applause from the staffs of Cinderella Sister while filming on the 19th at a resort in Kyungkido for being able to perfectly digest his character Jungwoo's gaze.

Taecyeon stated that his character, Jungwoo, is an athlete with a rough side to him. However, he's endlessly caring and filled with love for the only woman that has ever made food for him, Eunjo (Moon Geunyoung).

Behind Taecyeon were the members of 2PM. The 2PM members made a surprise visit at the filming set for Cinderella Sister in order to encourage Taecyeon's first acting attempt. Due to 2PM's arrival, the atmosphere at the set was said to be chaotic.

The producers of Cinderella Sister stated, "He's heightened my anticipation of his skills because he's expressed such skills in acting when in front of the camera. There were women that have waited 4 hours in the freezing cold in order to see him. It made me realize how popular he truly is."
