[Info]I am Happy Poster revealed

The official movie poster for Hallyu star Hyun Bin's new film "I Am Happy" was released.

"Happy", which stars Hyun Bin and actress Lee Bo-young, is based on a Korean short story about two wounded souls at a psychiatric ward -- mental patient Man-soo (played by Hyun) and nurse Soo-kyung (played by Lee).

The revealed poster shows the two characters leaning against each other under the sunlight and reads "Day after day, life is crazy difficult.. But because I have you.. I am happy.. "

The film, directed by Yoon Jong-chan who previously helmed "Sorum" and "Blue Swallow", was the closing film at the 14th Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) last month.

Hyun, best known for his role in the 2005 hit drama "My Name Is Kim Sam Soon", recently made headlines after admitting to dating top Korean actress Song Hye-kyo, his co-star in last year's TV series "The World That They Live In."

Lee has appeared in several TV dramas including "Save The Last Dance For Me" in 2004 and "Seodongyo" in 2005. She made her film debut last year in "Once Upon A Time".

"Happy" is set for release in Korea on November 26.

[news] How exactly is Big Bang doing in Japan?

Earlier this year, YG announced big plans of sending Big Bang to Japan. "Gara Gara Go" was released, it hit #2, they got invited to perform all over the place, Daesung got in a car accident, Big Bang group activities were put on a hold for a while and now that everything's back to normal I can't help but think, are they actually doing any well in Japan compared to the other Korean-turned-Japanese market serving boyband?

If you look at DBSK's career in Japan, you'll see that it took quite some time for them to one, actually enter the top 10 of the Oricon Weekly Charts and two, get a number one single - both statistical indications of success. The single record from their first Japanese album Heart, Mind and Soul was 37-14-16-22-22, not very good if you look at it from any point of view. Five In The Black was rolled out and they did moderately better with the singles - 15-6-3-7-9. However T was the era that saw then dominate Japan to the extent that their success there almost matched what they had in Korea - singles went in at 2-2-2-4-3-1. By the time the last single, "Purple Line" took the top spot in early 2008 they were insanely big stars in Japan already and had several top 10 singles under their belts. It was only until promotions for The Secret Code were started though that they began getting the # 1 singles by the truckload - their chart record for the album was 1-1-1-3-1-2.

Now we look at Big Bang. "My Heaven" and "Gara Gara Go" peaked within the top 3 of the Weekly charts - DBSK debuted at 37. To say that they're doing exceptionally well would be an understatement because you look at how gigantic DBSK are in Japan right now and then you look at their history - if it took them more than a year from their Japanese debut to get into the top 3 and it took Big Bang a matter of weeks/months, these guys must be doing something even more effective than what SM+Rhythm Zone were doing for DBSK.

So it got me thinking (again), does their chart success have anything to do with the song itself? "Gara Gara Go" in my opinion is one of those songs that artists use to break other territories but I fear for because they're not what the industry of that other market is looking for at that very moment. There are two things that could happen with songs like these - either they fail miserably (and I mean really miserably) or become the biggest thing since anything. Thankfully, the latter option happened to Big Bang on both occasions so far.

What I personally find a little strange though is how "Gara Gara Go" is not only breaking Japan but other markets as well. Here in the Philippines you'll hear the song playing at least thrice a day on any of the 3 music channels they have on basic cable and we're known for being extremely biased towards whatever hits it big in the US, not anywhere else. If Big Bang can not only break where they intend to succeed but an industry like the one here that's as late and ignorant as it is, then they're really doing this right.

So based on the chart data and the comparisons in one of the world's biggest music industries, can we make a prediction? Yes. But keep in mind that you can never tell how a single performs on the charts - the music industry is like a confused little kid who changes his/her mind every three seconds.

"Let Me Hear Your Voice" is out and in the vain of "Gara Gara Go", it will either fail badly or succeed massively - those are the only two options. If chart and sales history are anything to say about predicting which way the single will go, then it will be big, chart-wise. That can change though so until we actually see their name on the Oricon Charts, everything is still a big IF.

[news] T-ara Celebrates 100 Days

In the midst of all the on goings in K-Pop, it can easily be overlooked and forgotten how long a group has actually been around. Sure it's not a major accomplishment or anything, but 100 days as a group is still it's own achievement in itself.

It shows endurance and pride. Struggle and faith. A willingness to succeed. 100 days may fall under the "So, what? 100 days? Anyone can get do that easily." logic and category, but for the groups who go through so much every single day for the shake of the fans, it's a nice day to relax, be proud and feel like you've done something great. No matter how little it may seem. They deserve a party every once and awhile.

T-ara's been around now for 100 days and even though they may of received more buzz as a special unit with Supernova, these girls have shown that they have a lovely fun side through variety programs. With everything they've currently done in 100 days from songs as T-ara, T-Nova, CFs, etc. The future looks bright for them and to achieve all that in such little time is not something to be sneezed at. Congratulations T-ara for all the hard work so far.

T-ara & Supernova also appeared on today's 1000 Song Challenge:

[news] SNSD's Sunny Emotional Revelation on Invincible Youth

SNSD's Sunny talks about her grandparents on the latest Invincible Youth episode that recently aired.

The topic was a soft spot for her as she goes on to mention how her grandmother does not recognize her anymore (my assumption is possibly due to Alzheimer's or some case of dementia) and her grandfather has been very ill. She goes further to say that she hasn't be able to see them since this past spring when the group went to LA for Hollywood Bowl causing her to cry. Unable to call, Sunny brings up the topic how KBS World is available in the US and hopes her grandparents will be able to watch the programs she is on and sends a heart warming message to them.

The following clip is subbed. The discussion about her family does not begin until around the 2:20.

I wish nothing but the best for her and her family and I hope her grandparents health improves.

[news] Fans are 'Falling Slowly' for Lyn and Park HyoShin

Both Lyn and Park HyoShin appeared on Chocolate and fans were given a special treat with a duet of "Falling Slowly" from the two. But the treat did not end with this performance.

Lyn and Park HyoShin are top notch ballad singers and this performance on Chocolate is not the first time that they have sung a duet together. At Lyn's first concert, the two have met on the same stage as well.

During this segment, Lyn started things off with her ballad "실화 (True Story)," off her new album , 6 1/2 New Celebration. Lyn knows a thing or two about singing live and delivered a flawless performance. After this performance, Lyn began to sing "Falling Slowly," and after her lines she invited Park HyoShin to the stage. Both artists made the song their own, changing the way they sung the lyrics.

Park HyoShin took over after Lyn and performed his song "사랑한 후에 (After Love)" and gave fans another special treat. The Park HyoShin we know is serious about his music and in most of his performances, he focuses on the delivery of his vocals above all else. On Chocolate, Park HyoShin showed us that he can dance as well!
