Music fans will have a tough time deciding which concerts to attend this December, as some of Korea's best singers will present their songs at separate events.
Ballads Galore
Shin Seung-hun, who recently released his second mini-album, ``Love O'clock,'' will dazzle his fans at his concert titled ``The Shin Seung-hun Show.'' The performance has become famous both in Korea and Japan, featuring great music and special stages for his fans. Tickets cost from 66,000 to 132,000 won and will be held at Olympic Hall, Olympic Park, Dec. 18-20.
Park Hyo-shin, who held his 10th anniversary concert in October, is offering his ``2009 Gift Live Tour +'' on Dec. 30 and 31. More than 200 staff members, including 120 dancers and chorus singers, will help Park prepare a show with various events. Tickets cost from 44,000 to 121,000 won and will be held at Jamsil Indoor Stadium.
Boy-next-door singer Lee Seung-gi, having recovered from the H1N1 virus, will show his versatility and engage in a special dance act with fellow dancers. Lee's concert will be held at the Fencing Stadium, Olympic Park, on Dec. 12 and 13. Tickets cost from 55,000 to 110,000 won.
Join Bobby Kim, Kim Bum-soo and Wheesung for a memorable evening at ``The Vocalist'' concert, Dec. 25 and 26. The three talented singers will regale fans with their own songs, as well as with an exciting joint performance arranged exclusively for the event. Ranging from soul and hip-hop to ballads and R&B, the lineup will satisfy fans who are looking for a romantic evening with some of the most talented vocalists in Korea. The concert will be held at the Gymnastic Stadium, Olympic Park. Tickets cost from 44,000 to 121,000 won.
Kim Tae-woo, the winner of the Best Ballad/R&B award at the Mnet Asian Music Awards, is also preparing a concert, ``T-Virus Show,'' at Kyung Hee University, Dec. 18 and 19. Captivating fans with his dance number ``Love Rain,'' Kim will perform under the three themes: Music, Love and Show. Tickets cost from 77,000 to 99,000 won.
Christmas Celebration
For an extra special Christmas, consider picking up some tickets for a concert celebrating the holiday.
Lee Seung-chul will put on a show for fans with his Christmas concert ``Romantica,'' with a lineup featuring hit numbers from his 10 albums and also from various original soundtracks he's worked on over the past few years. ``Romantica'' will be held Dec. 24 to 27 at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium. Tickets cost from 55,000 to 132,000 won.
Hip-hop group Epik High is also planning to celebrate the holidays with fans. Group member DJ Tukutz left for his military service in October, but that hasn't deterred the group from pleasing its fans.
``Sadly, this will be the last Epik High Christmas concert for the next three years, so don't miss out!'' the group wrote on its Web site.
Epik High's ``Last Christmas'' concert will be held Dec. 24 at Korea University. Tickets cost from 44,000 to 66,000 won.
Lee Mun-sae plans to offer his best known songs, which range from ballad, folk, rock to classical. Lee's ``Red Sunset in Christmas'' will be held at Ewha Womans University from Dec. 23 to 26. Tickets cost from 44,000 to 110,000 won.
Singer and songwriter Youn-ha will hold her first concert since her debut on Christmas day at Melon-AX. The 21-year-old will offer her hit numbers, including ``1,2,3,'' ``Secret Number 486,'' along with carols such as ``Christmas Christmas Christmas.'' Tickets cost from 55,000 to 66,000 won.
Other Treats
Park Jin-young, the producer of pop group the Wonder Girls, will sing for fans at his concert titled ``Bad Party: There is No Love.'' Famous for his provocative concepts, the performance will transform the busy producer and songwriter into a sexy singer and dancer. The concert will be held from Dec. 23 to 26 at Olympic Hall, Olympic Park. Tickets cost from 55,000 to 88,000 won.
Singers Psy and Kim Jang-hun are holding a joint concert on Dec. 24 at the Gymnastic Stadium, Olympic Park. The two are among the best entertainers in Korea, famous for their exciting and creative shows that have included a water show, flying around the stage on wires and never-ending encores. Tickets cost from 55,000 to 132,000 won.
Dinner shows also offer a great opportunity to celebrate the end of the year. Patty Kim, Sim Soo-bong and Insooni are all holding separate dinner shows at the Grand Hyatt (Dec. 25 and 26), the Grand Hilton Hotel (Dec. 25 and 26) and the 63 Building (Dec. 30 and 31), respectively.
TV presenter Kim Je-dong left his program amid speculations he had been suspended for his political views. Now fans can get a glimpse of the famous host at his own ``talk concert,'' where he will sing songs, share ideas and converse with the audience, allowing fans to get an up-close and personal experience with the celebrity. All tickets cost 33,000 won and the concert will be held at E-rang Theater, Daehangno, through Jan. 3.
