[news] @2PMKhun is not 2PM Khun?

Twitter made the ‘Verified’ feature for a reason. Fake celebrity Twitter accounts are all over the place, Korean celebrities included.

When we saw a legitimate Korean celebrity account like @followjyp follow a Twitter account like @2PMKhun, it was like seeing @followjyp stamped the emblem of verification on @2PMKhun’s account and made everybody think it was real. Oh, how we were so wrong.

After months of barely any tweets and over 30,000 followers, @2PMKhun twitted on November 5 with a simple ‘tired of waiting…’ and stirred up controversies amongst netizens who tried to decrypt and find the hidden answer to his riddle. Does Khun want Jaebum back or is this only to promote the new album?

Twenty three hours later, @2PMKhun twitted again with an announcement that the account was not real. Netizens were quick to try and analyze the situation. Why JYP would follow a fake Nichkhun account? Why is @2PMKhun following a known fake DBSK’s Yunho account? Does this make all the other 2PM accounts fake too? All these questions were somewhat answered by @2PMKhun but it is up to your own judgement whether to believe it or not.

Some of @2PMKhun’s previous tweets were deleted and the number of his followers slowly dropped one by one. But fear not, the Internet is great and my netizen skills aren’t poor. I’ve made screenshots of the account before the tweets were deleted. Without further ado, I’ll let you witness the tweets for yourselves. Click on the images to enlarge.

WARNING: I do not know who’s fake, who’s real nor what to believe. Please use your judgment and be cautious while viewing the images below.

[news] 2PM "Waiting For You Worns Me Out" Teaser Song out!

Title is called - 기다리다 지친다
Waiting For You Worns Me Out (credit SH<3

After so much controversy and scandal over 2pm, JYP finally released the song teaser from 2pm's full album which was much delayed because of Jaebeom's controversies and boycotts by fans here and there. Its nice to hear their voices after being on break and uncertain status for months.

The song is a soft ballad, RnB style, but very catchy with piano and orchestra background, sure is a pleasure to hear something from 2pm! minus Jaebeom that is. I can hear wooyoung in the teaser, and... i cant really tell anymore.

credits: inanis @ youtube; Blueprincess824

Lyrics according to 2OD (translated by G-race.):
You'll get tired while waiting,
Do you know how i feel?
You'll get tired waiting
Do you still remember me

Stay tuned for more news on 2pm! the song will be released TOMORROW!

[NEWS] Jaebum & JYP, a turnover?

Jaebum & JYPE, a turnover?

It is expected for JYPE to meet up with Jaebum in Seattle through their next round of international auditions. This November 7th, the day of the Seattle auditions, people are expecting for JYPE to meet with Jaebum under the table. Jaebum himself had joined JYP through their audition 5 years ago in 2004. One associate has stated "It's not final as to whether JYP himself will be present but there will be prominent JYPE staff that have a special relationship with Jaebum. People are drawing a lot of attention to this future meeting and are expecting some sort of resolvement."

Many of the Seattle natives themselves, whom will be auditioning, have stated that Jaebum is their role model.

Netizens are questioning whether this meeting will bring about different feelings for Jaebum, who previously stated that he was not ready to fully discuss anything. To Jaebum, dancing and singing is his life's all. People are wondering whether Jaebum could take this opportunity to come out and meet his fans and make a decision as to whether he is truly ready or not.

Jaebum will one day reunite with his fans, but many are hoping that this meeting will be one of the stepping stones for that to happen. A native stated "Jaebum has just slightly cut off assocation with Korea and has been focusing on his dancing and singing. The talk of the town now is whether Jaebum will be able to show up at the audition as part of the audience and relive the highlight of his life 5 years ago."

[news] JYP dials up the 808 state

The first stop on the 2009 JYP USA Audition Tour was none other than the 50th State. The auditions were held on October 25th from 10:00am – 3:00pm at the Waikiki Resort Hotel, which is owned by Korean Airlines. A little over a hundred of Hawaii’s finest turned out to audition to be the next Rain, Wonder Girl, or beastly idol. Those that attended ranged in age from tweens to twenty-somethings and there was an even amount of male and female contenders. There was an abundant amount of singers followed by dancers, with a few actors and models sprinkled in the mix.

For those of you thinking of trying out, here’s what you can look forward to. The registration process was fast followed by about an hour wait. While waiting to audition, participants were shown videos of JYP trainees so they could get a taste of what life would be like if chosen. JYPE staff were generally helpful and kind answering questions and giving auditioners tips for their performances. They were then taken to the audition room in groups of 10. In the audition room, there were three staff, one judge, one assistant, and one videographer. Each person went on stage individually and was allowed to present whatever they prepared in entirety. Many of the auditioners claimed that nerves got the best of them and they were a little intimidated by the judge who was reportedly, beautiful.

Those that pass the audition will be notified via email by December 15th. The ultimate prize will be a position as a trainee of JYP Entertainment. Next stop for the tour is Los Angeles on All Hallow’s Eve. One savvy auditioner noticed that after a few minutes the videographer tended to stop recording the video for most of the performers. Whenever a standout performed, they videoed the whole performance. Just a little something to look out for if you are auditioning in one of the upcoming cities.

A few of Kpop’s finest are either from Hawaii or were ‘discovered’ there. Rebekah Kim, better known as After School maknae Beka, was born and raised in Hawaii. She is a graduate of Moanalua High School on the island of Oahu. Eun Ji Won and Kang Sung Hoon of Sechs Kies were discovered at a club in Hawaii by the vacationing co-president of Daesung Entertainment. The two had been living in Hawaii while attending Hawaii Pacific University.

Good luck to all those who tried out at the Hawaii auditions. If you don’t make it this time, there’s always another, so don’t give up on your dreams. And, you live here…

… so life ain’t that bad. A special ‘Mahalo’ to KYURANGER! and puckapow of Soompi for sharing their audition experience.

[news] Wonder Girls Ready for More Challenges

The Wonder Girls reappeared in Korea for their local fans with good news last Friday: they ranked 76 in the Hot 100 of the Billboard chart.

This is the first time in the chart's 115-year history that a Korean singer or group has ranked in the top 100, according to the five-member group's agency JYP Entertainment.

The group and its producer Park Jin-young, also known as JYP, held a press conference to share the news and excitement with local fans.

``The Billboard's Hot 100 is one of the toughest charts to be ranked on. The Wonder Girls is the first Asian group to enter the chart in almost 30 years,'' Park said at the event packed with reporters and photographers held at a caf? in Cheongdam-dong, southern Seoul.

``The fact that the song `Nobody' was played 65 times on the top five radio stations in the U.S. is the equivalent to 650 times on local radio. It's a miracle.''

The ranking is determined by album sales and radio airtime.

The five members also looked excited to be back home, smiling and posing for the cameras eagerly.

``It feels good to be in front of so many flashing cameras,'' Ye-eun, also known as Yenny, said.

The news of the group moving to the U.S. to boost their career was considered both an adventure and a challenge, and it was obvious the young girls had a hard time over the different language, culture and preferences.

``I remember when we first went to the U.S. and I cried myself to sleep every single day. It took a long time to adjust to the new life there, and because we didn't speak the language fluently, it was hard to meet new people. It was also scary to sing and dance in front of people we didn't know well,'' Sun-mi, or Mimi, said in tears.

Learning the language was one of the most important tasks of all, and Park explained that the girls had to go through a grueling schedule every single day.

``The girls performed for 50 shows not only in the U.S., but also in Mexico and Canada as the opening act for the Jonas Brothers. They would perform, take English lessons for six hours, promote themselves in the streets two hours before and after their performances and sleep in the buses while they moved from one location to the other,'' he said.

Many Asian artists, including Korean, have tapped into the U.S. market before, but it was hard for any of them to squeeze into the already competitive pop industry. When asked how he and the girls did it, Park explained his strategy with enthusiasm.

``We thought we needed to attract teenagers. Probably because of the Internet, they were more open and didn't discriminate against any particular race, so we worked on catching their attention for seven months. Instead of just selling albums at record shops, we signed a deal with a teenage clothing brand that has more than 1,000 shops across the U.S. We started selling the album at these stores two weeks ago, and more than 30,000 albums were purchased,'' he said.

The girls have had a busy yet fruitful year, and Park seemed happy and satisfied with their work and the outcome.

``There are no groups in the U.S. that are following the retro concept. The reason radio stations play `Nobody' is because there are no songs like it,'' Park said, adding that the girls will appear on a popular television program in November.

Local fans will have to wait for the Wonder Girls to perform in Korea, as the group will continue pursuing their dream in America for the time being. They will leave Korea after shooting a commercial and release an all-English album early next year.

``We want to surprise the people who were skeptical. Even if we fail, we want to fail while doing our best. I'm relieved that we are doing pretty well now,'' Park said laughing.

Making their debut in 2007, the Wonder Girls shot to stardom with their songs ``So Hot'' and ``Nobody.'' The five members became a sensation that attracted both male and female fans with their retro and sexy look, catchy songs and down-to-earth personalities. They moved to the U.S. this year and made headlines when they became the opening act for the Jonas Brothers' concert tour.

[news] Wondergirls: Get in My Belly!

The Wondergirls, AKA the Fat Bastard-esque Quintet, returned to the Homeland for the first time as a whole group (along with their boss-man JYP) since their official stint here in the States and gave a honest interview with the media.

Their amazing ranking on the Billboard Chart was discussed, as well as, various other obvious, ho-hum topics. But, the answers that made me guffaw with glee, however, pertained to the question asking the girls what they most wanted to do once they stepped foot in Korea.

All of their answers were strictly food related. God love ‘em!

Ye Eun: I wanted to eat soy (salty) crab (???), I ate it this morning. Sun Ye: I wanted to most eat my mom’s cooking. Sun Mi: I really wanted to eat Korea’s Kimchee Stew. So Hee: I ate my dad’s Fermented Soy Bean Paste Stew.

Awww! Even though they have their own personal cook-ajummah and have access to all the best Korean restaurants in the tri-state area, the stomachs of all five budding global superstars got plagued by the homesick bug the most. I guess Korean food is just. that. mesmerizing.

[news] 2PM WILL BE participating in the Concert of Hope

Hello this is JYPE.

I am making a correction on our announcement about the no participation of 2PM at ‘1st The Concert of hope in Busan’

I correct that announcement that said 2PM wasn’t going to participate in ‘1st The Concert of hope in Busan’ 2PM will be participating at ‘1st The Concert of hope in Busan’.

Even until yesterday, it wasn’t assured schedule so we made announcement but it turns out that today, the schedule was changed so we are correcting our announcement.

This is because when Seoul sponsor set the contract with JYPE it was set that the concert name wasn’t named ‘1st The Concert of hope in Busan’ , it was called something else. So because of this current name ‘1st The Concert of hope in Busan’ wasn’t searched there was an error in 2PM’s schedule, and we gave confusion to the fans because of the concert name and the representative.

We sincerely apologize that this gave confusion to the fans in one day.
Sorry.

[News] Jaebum Speaks Out

Jaebum finally speaks out after leaving to Seattle. 2PM's leader Park Jaebum who temporarily (we're hoping) left the group has finally revealed his feelings of the whole ordeal. On a KBS variety show 'Sunday Night' hosted by Nam Heesuk, Jaebum talks for himself from Seattle.

The producers of the show said that they are "meeting Jaebum for the first time after leaving to Seattle. He denied our interview request but has finally come through with a video message that he sent himself."

The video footage has Jaebum saying that he is "rethinking my actions and behavior... I am working out a way to learn from them and have nothing else to say. I think time must pass before I can say anything."

The show will air on the 25th.
