[Pictures]Infinity Challenge Members Turned Into Figurines

For limited time only, figures of each Infinity Challenge member will be available for sale starting from middle of January 2010 from MBC T-shop. The sale transaction will be made through reservation only. The price of each figurine will be 29,700 won (~$30) which is a little expensive compared to price of their 2010 calendar. But the good news is that all profits will be used to help needy people.

As a side note, it has been reported that members of Infinity Challenge have been training 6 months on pro wrestling and recently traveled to Malaysia to watch Korean drivers test out for F1 Formula driving. It seems that their next main challenge will be F1 Formula circuit.

[Pictures]Netizens are sometimes good for something

Like pointing out a blink-or-you’ll-miss gem of a rib-tickling moment like this one:

yoo & jung nyc_20091123_seoulbeats

While shooting their, now highly infamous, NYC special for MBC’s “Infinity Challenge,” the delightfully droll duo, Yoo Jae Suk & Jung Joon Ha, decided to have some tourist-y fun by perfecting the fine art of “window-crashing” while a run-of-the-mill T.V. broadcast was in progress.

Netizens have pointed out how “unusual it was to see the two like that on American T.V. when they are celebrities themselves”.

[News] Tablo’s brother criticizes Infinite Challenge New York special episode & his reply to angry netizens

Epik High Tablo’s elder brother Dave criticizes MBC Infinite Challenge and its recent special New York episode.

Dave wrote on his minihompy on 21st November on his thoughts about the episode, and this has been the topic amongst netizens. Even though, he has closed the menu tab on his minihompy, many capture shots of his post have already been circulating on the net.

An abstract goes, “Even though I was a little worried about the Infinite Challenge members going to New York… I felt mad embarrassed watching the episode. Gagmen in our country can make it even in New York? ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?”

He continued, “Didn’t the New Yorkers not cared about them when they are wondering on the streets not knowing how to speak a word of English, wouldn’t they think of them as fools trying eat anything they were given at the pizza house or when they are dancing the maedduki dance and doing gag in front of the white people in a rundown warehouse…”

“Even though this is variety, the low quality gag should just be done in our country. Please huh? Don’t you earn billions every year? Why do you need to go this overseas and even all the way in New York and look like assholes? MBC is trying to make something big out of this?”

“I think this is one amazing episode for those fellows from MBC who planned the rubbish and for reporters reporting this embarrassing idea of trying to let New York and whole world know of ‘the gag we are proud of’, our national pride. Our countrymen are such humiliating people?”

Meanwhile, netizens are taking both sides of the debates. Some thought that Dave has gone too far with his words, while others thought that he made some sense.

A few hours ago, Tablo's brother Dave (Lee Sun Min, 37)'s created a storm in Korea due to his criticism of the MBC Infinity Challenge members and Korea on his Cyworld, angering readers. After watching this controversy blow up, some of you probably expected an apology. However, Dave instead left a post explaining his anger.

Was it that fun to read what I wrote about my annoyance to Infinity Challenge: New York episode..? Due to the 16 years of my social life in America, facing prejudice and discrimination, it was very uncomfortable looking at the hosts acting that way on the screen, okay? Not the comments the press makes like 'Korean humor is so funny!' but more like 'What are they?' ... Stuff like that?

You all saw the pizza guy tossing that slice of pizza like he's feeding a dog, right? I'm sorry for getting pissed about it instead of just laughing it away...

The MCs are the best in Korea. However, they are nothing but a bunch of funny and awkward looking Asians in New York. In America, the Asians get treated even more poorly then the Black, Hispanic, and Latino people. Why did they have to choose the obvious concept of 'English-mute Asians'..

If it was for a good cause of introducing our Korean food, why not take a translator who's good at English to make the conversation more interesting and funny?

I got even more furious at the fact that they were MBC, the fact that they were the Infinity Challenge.

In contrast to the negative response to the earlier blog post, some netizens are agreeing with Dave regarding this matter. Some have posted, "I share the same thoughts as Dave," "If the trip wasn't just to have fun but to spread the word of Korean food, it should've been more prepared," "It is very disappointing." However, the majority still remain angry at Dave for threatening their national pride, arguing, "Why do we have to speak English fluently when we are Koreans?" "There is nothing to be embarrassed about."

The 2PM members found the Infinity Challenge members hard at work on the farm land and popped out dancing to 'Again and Again.'

While Chansung and Wooyoung was relaxing in the mud and giving each other mud face massages, Jaebum set out to return pride to 2PM's name and challeneged Yoo Jaesuk to a mud duel. No Hongchul attacked Taecyeon by blowing on his face in what he called an 'Ammonia Attack,' ending in a victory for No Hongchul.

After having won another game duel, the Infinity Members could enjoy a full set table of food while the losers, 2PM, only had the luxury of rice and kimchi.

The group got up to a dance competition, showing the funnier side to 2PM and creating a fun atmosphere. Taking this as an opportunity, the 2PM members began to sneakily steal some of the Infinity Challenge members' side dishes. Being too into their dances, the Infinity Challenge members did not take notice.
