[NEWS] TVXQ's Mirotic Version C enter Philippines' Music One Chart!!

Last January 29, 2010, Universal Records released TVXQ's "Mirotic Version C" album to the Philippine audience.

And after two days from its release, TVXQ's "Mirotic Version C" along with Girls' Generation's "Gee" already entered the Music One Album Chart at #2 and #4 respectively. It is said that the retail chain released their album chart on the 4th of February based on the sales tabulation garnered from the three Music One Stores in the Phils. (Glorietta, Greenbelt and Quezon City) from January 25 to January 31, 2010. So, this doesn't even include the other stores that also released the album in other provinces and cities in the country.

This is quite an achievement for both groups considering that these albums were released last 2008 (Mirotic Version C) and 2009 (Gee).

So, congratulations TVXQ! And congratulations to the Filipino Cassies as well! ;)

[NEWS] G-Dragon interrogated for sexually explicit scene at concert!

Big Bang’s leader, G-Dragon, was interrogated on the 4th for his sexually explicit bed scene at his first solo concert.


When asked about the sexually explicit bed scene, G-Dragon responded with, “I didn’t know it was that sexually explicit.”

When asked if he knew the song he performed, “She’s Gone,” was inappropriate for minors, G-Dragon responded, “I didn’t know.”

A representative of the district court stated, “G-Dragon has denied all charges. We are going to continue our investigation to determine whether G-Dragon’s actions are punishable by law. We plan to finalize our investigation by next week.”

This is great news so far… pending the outcome, the next time I have a sudden urge to hump a girl in public, I’ll just respond with “I didn’t know it was that sexually explicit.” I mean this is really great, I don’t even have to be reborn a dog.

In January 1967, when Yoon Bok-hee, a legendary singer, appeared on TV wearing a miniskirt, she was branded a “public enemy” who threatened to destroy Korea’s strict ethical code.
In April 1973, a barmaid was thrown into jail for sporting a scanty garment that exposed more than 20 centimeters of flesh above her knees.
Such a miniskirt ban is long gone but, ironically, Korea now finds itself debating whether it is overly tolerant. The debate especially focuses on entertainers, notably singers, in their sexually explicit performances, which some criminologists claim have a lot to do with an increasing number of sex crimes, among the younger generation in particular.

Park Hyung-sin, 38, said she was shocked after watching a music video on television with her nine-year-old son. It was a music video of a popular girl group’s hit song, showing a young couple, scantily clad, in bed kissing and touching each other before ending with a scene insinuating the two were completely naked.

“I blushed in embarrassment at first and became indignant,” Park said. “I fear for my child and wonder what impact it will have on him, when he is left alone to watch it. Then, I was told that many music videos of this kind are available on the Internet. It’s really a big problem.”
In fact, one of the codes for success in the entertainment industry here is getting “sexy.” Actors and actresses as well as singers are competing to show as much of their bodies as possible. Some music videos of singers, which are popular among teenagers, show scenes on the border of explicit sexual intercourse or homosexuality.

“If such films had been shown even a decade ago, they might have created a major controversy,” said a senior producer of m.net, a domestic music television. “We weed out overly explicit scenes and ask entertainment agencies to reedit them.” Seo Hyun-seong, a music video director, says sexually seductive scenes in music videos are regarded as a “must-have” element to sell.

G-Dragon, the leader of popular boy band Big Bang, has faced changes for a sexually-charged performance during a solo concert in front of 50,000 fans, mostly teenagers, in December last year. During his concert at a stadium in Seoul on Dec. 5 and 6, the 21-year-old singer performed some pseudo-sexual acts with a female dancer on a bed on stage, with heavy breathing and moaning coming out of the speakers.

The Ministry of Health, Welfare and Family Affairs subsequently filed a complaint with the state prosecution, saying the singer’s performance was too sexually explicit to be available to teenagers. The prosecution plans to summon the singer for questioning.

Yang Hyun-suk, head of G-Dragon’s management agency, said in a statement, “I will fully cooperate with the investigation and take all legal responsibility for the performance.”

Entertainers have also been criticized for the perceived sexual content of certain lyrics and dancing styles. Part of a song by popular girl group Brown Eyed Girls is “You can climb on top of me, and then I will climb over you, too. We will be out of control in the end. I want to kiss on your bright-white neck.”

Lyrics of another song, by Sandara Park, a member of the popular girl band 2NE1, say “Don’t hesitate. You can have my lips.” Kang Tae-gyu, an executive at a music label, said “A growing number of boy and girl bands are seeking a competitive edge with obscene contents in lyrics or music video. When I listen carefully to some music, I feel like I’m in an adult-only night club.”

Experts say teenagers exposed to sexual content through TV, music, films or magazines on a regular basis are more prone to be sexually stimulated than those who don’t.

According to a recent survey of 155 teenagers convicted of sexual crimes by Professor Shin Eui-jin of Yonsei medical school in Seoul, nearly 40 percent of them pointed out obscene material on TV and the Internet prodded them to rape or harass a woman.

Ji Jung-soon, an activist of a teenager-protection group, urged the authorities to set concrete guidelines. “Obscene material has already become a part of daily life for our children. Immediate and strong countermeasures are needed,” Ji said.

[NEWS]Jaejin and Sulli won't be able to attend graduation!

Ft. Island's Lee Jaejin and f(x)'s Sulli will not be attending their graduation due to their busy schedules.

On the 5th Lee Jaejin and Sulli would be graduating from highschool (Jaejin), and middleschool (Sulli).

The day of the graduation is interferring with their overseas concerts so they will not be able to make it.

Newsen reported, "Sulli already had a performance planned in Chungdo so she will not be able to make it to her middle school graduation."

Another reporter stated, "Lee Jaejin is upset that he won't be able to go to his high school graudation."

On the other hand, boy group 2AM's Jung Jinwoon and BEAST's Son Dongwoon has graduated from their highschool on the 4th and singer Younha has returned to school after 6 years to get her diploma.

Wooyoung talked about how he felt about being an assistant MC for “Win Win” and about his 2PM members coming on the show as guests.

In the afternoon of February 4th, in the new KBS building (in Seoul, YoungDeungMoGu, YeoEuiDo) where KBS 2TV variety show “Win Win” is filmed, Wooyoung said, “I’m worried about the members coming on the show as guests,” at the press conference.

In connection to Taecyeon’s drama “Cinderella’s Older Sister” (working title), Wooyoung said, “I’m not ready for dramas yet,” and made everyone laugh by saying, “And also, nobody has attempted to cast me either.”

So Nyuh Shi Dae’s Taeyeon, who is also an assistant MC, said, “When I saw that 2PM was going to come out on the show I thought, ‘So idols can come out on this show’ and I suggested that So Nyuh Shi Dae should come out as guests, but I didn’t get a reply.”

After Kim Namjoo, Hwang Jungmin will appear in the second episode and 2PM will appear in the third episode of “Win Win”.

[NEWS] Wonder Girls’ Newest Member HaeLim Integrates Into Group!

WONDERGIRLS has restructured itself as a result of newest member HaeLim coming aboard. After SunMi’s announced withdrawal last month, the preceding plan was to involve her in group activities until late-February, & then begin to mix in HaeLim from the month of March. But the transition period has been brought forward somewhat.

Beginning February 4 with CF activities in Sanya, China [the city is located on Hainan island], HaeLim will publicly appear as a WONDERGIRLS member for the first time. To this end, she had parted company with the others on January 27 & then joined the group to go overseas to China on February 2. After finishing China promotions, she will head to America to participate in recording sessions for WONDERGIRLS’s official debut album.

WONDERGIRLS had begun recording for the debut album in America since late last year. Because the plan was to publish it in late February, SunMi had participated in the recordings. However, her abrupt decision to exit resulted in an unavoidable change. After careful deliberations over whether to keep SunMi’s vocals in the album, the decision was made to enroll HaeLim & let her re-record the parts. The anticipated album release date is also delayed till April or so.

Separately, SunMi is not involved in the China CF activities & has remained behind in New York. The JYP camp said that she will have already left WONDERGIRLS when the CF is aired, & was thus not included in the China promotions. SunMi will join the ‘Pop-Con Concert’ on February 20 at the Nassau Coliseum in America, before biding farewell to WONDER GIRLS.

MBLAQ appeared for the recent filming of KBS 2TV Star GoldenBell when they talked about it.

During the filming session, MC Jeon HyunMoo said, “I heard that Rain will monitor MBLAQ when you go on variety shows, what are his responses?” And G.O said, “He said he will monitor our image for the 1st 2 months when we debuted, but from the 3rd month, hyung is now helpless and said ‘You guys do whatever you want!’.” The members revealed that after that, they just did what they like on variety shows, rousing laughters from the other guest appearances.

2AM SeulOng said, “JinYoung hyung also said that to us at first, like don’t do that, or try to act moderately, but he went to the States.”

SNSD's Yuri and Kara's Hara establishing the Human Rights Committee Board in the latest Invincible Youth episode had attracedt the attention of viewers.
