[News] Kim Hyun Joong to make film debut

Kim Hyun-joong, leader of Korean boy band SS501, will soon make his big screen debut, according to a source on Monday.

An associate of the film said Kim has been picked to lead the cast of film "You're My Pet" opposite top actress Su-ae in the film directed by Kim Byung-gon.

The movie is based on Japanese TV series "Trams Like Us" broadcast on TBS in 2003, which itself was based on an original comic series by Yayoi Ogawa.

The movie is about unexpected love between a successful, smart and good-looking fashion magazine editor and a handsome guy who is adopted as a pet to the successful woman. 

"We haven't completely finished working on the contract but we'll be done by the end of this week," said a representative from Kim's agency DSP Media. 

As a member of the popular five-member K-pop band, Kim Hyun-joong also debuted as an actor early this year through hit KBS TV series "Boys Over Flowers".

[News] MBLAQ gears up for debut in Japan

Korean idol group MBLAQ is gearing up for their debut in Japan, according to their agency on Wednesday.

The group will be performing as guests at their producer Rain's fan meeting, which will be held at Tokyo's International Forum on December 6, J. Tune Entertainment announced in a press release.

At the event, celebrating the opening of Rain's official Japanese website, the five-member boy band will be performing several songs from their debut album "Just BLAQ", including a Japanese version of their debut single "Oh Yeah".

In accordance with their visit to the country, music channel M.net Japan is planning to produce a special feature documentary on the idol group, selecting them as the first artists to star in their "2010 K-POP Star" series. The segment, set to air next January, will follow the group around for four days and shoot their experience into Japanese culture and traditions.

MBLAQ, who debuted two months ago, was created and trained by Asian superstar Rain for two years. They are the first group that Rain is introducing to the public since he turned producer.

Two of the members were recently diagnosed with the influenza virus but the group is planning to re-start their activities as a group in Japan over the weekend.

[News] DBSK/THSK/TVXQ Hero Jaejoong turned down cast offer for Iris season 2

Hero Jaejoong turned down the offer of a part in Iris season 2.

KBS2TV drama Iris, the Iris production representative explains, “We are already planning Iris season two, filming will begin in May of next year at the earliest.”

According to the representative, they already have plans for Iris season two; they will be filming in China, Japan, Europe, and other locations.

Iris lead actor is predicted to not be able to take a part in Iris season two, due to his already scheduled Hollywood film. Aside from him, other actors have possibilities of reappearing in season two, but until now nothing have been confirmed.

Related person informed reporters: “There was a proposal of having DBSK’s Hero Jaejoong to appear in Iris season 1. Also have him appear in the first season grand finale episode 20, then in season 2 have him officially appear, but this could not happen because Jaejoong turned down the part. Now we are looking for an actor to play the part.”

[NEWS] SNSD Sells 200,000 Albums In 2009!

SNSD, the nine member girl group has broke through the 200,000 mark for total sales in 2009.

According to the music sales site Hanteo.com, SNSD has sold 201,386 copies
of their total five albums in the period of January 1st to November 30th of 2009.

The second mini album 'Tell Me Your Wish' has sold approximately 85,000 copies,
the first mini album 'Gee' has sold approximately 81,500 copies,
their first album 'Girls' Generation' sold 13,500 copies, their 'Baby Baby' repackage
has sold 12,000 copies and their 2007 summer hit debut single 'Into The New World'
has sold 9,500; totalling to 200,000 copies of their albums sold in 2009.

SNSD took 2nd place for most albums sold in 2009. First place went to none other than
the 43 album released, 1992 debuted Seo TaeJi. He sold 226,924 albums this year.

2NE1 took first place for most sales of one album in the female artist category.
According to Hanteo they sold 88,970 copies of 'I Don't Care' until late November this year.

Big Bang's leader G-Dragon took first place for most sales of one album with
127,186 copies of 'Heartbreaker.'
