[news] Hanoi fans scream, pass out at MTV concert

{[['']]}

Nearly 50 thousand local fans flocked into Hanoi’s My Dinh Stadium Saturday to see their pop idols perform in a concert organized by the MTV End Exploitation and Trafficking campaign.
More than 40 concert goers fainted as fans jostled each other to get closer to their favorite singers, the Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper reported Sunday.

Around 75 percent of the audience were fans of South Korean boy band Super Junior, and they packed the stadium around four hours before the show began.

The free concert also featured local pop stars like Ha Anh Tuan, Pham Anh Khoa and Phuong Vy and famous Australian pop singer Kate Miller-Heidke.

None of them could steal the show from Super Junior, though.
Many fans, mostly teenage girls screamed and burst into tears when the band left the stage at the end of the concert.

The concert tour, aiming to educate youth about the dangers of human trafficking, will continue in Ha Long Bay on April 3, Can Tho on April 10 and Ho Chi Minh City on April 17. American band The Click Five will join the tour in HCMC.

The campaign, known as MTV EXIT, is produced by the MTV Europe Foundation in partnership with the US Agency for International Development and the Australian Government’s Agency for International Development.
