[News] 3 employees under YG Ent suspected of embezzling 2.5 billion KRW of concert fees

It was revealed on 1st December that 3 employees from YG Entertainment, which singers Big Bang and 2NE1 are under, were found to have embezzled 2.5billion KRW of the agency singers’ concert fees.
According to Criminal Division 4 of Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Officesaid that the 3 employees have been charged on non-restraint. The 3 employees were working as managers in YG and have been accused of stealing about 2.5billion KRW worth of the singers’ concert fees for their own pleasure, living expenses and for investment.

In addition, 3 club representatives – Im (37), Ji (40), Kim (39) – with relations with YG Entertainment’s owner Yang HyunSeok have been charged with tax violations. This 3 have in the period of the past 4 years deliberately avoid tax payments of up to 1 billion KRW after using the club’s registration fees etc for their own use.
This was after months of secret investigation by the IRS on YG.
