The idol you know has died.
[ Whether it's good or bad, what's currently happening between 2PM and their fandom is something that will be left in history. There has never been an idol that has told their fandom that they agreed to a member's withdrawal, and there have never been a fandom that has turned into antis against their favorite singers. 2PM Jaebum's withdrawal decision has changed the relationship between idols and fans, the biggest change since the mid 1990s. What exactly has made the situation come to this point? <10 Asia> has provided an explanation regarding idols and the fandom of idols and has organized their history. We have even provided a fan's confession that depicts the upsetting and tiring reality of idols that can no longer remain in the spot of the best. ]
The generation of idols has ended. Of course, one can easily see the increase in idols compared to the past but they are not the idols that we once knew. The generation of idols we are talking about are the fans that worked to block the disbandment of their favorite groups by breaking the company executive's car, or fans that attempted to protect their groups by buying stocks within their agency.
The situation between 2PM and their fandom is not the only reason for this change. However, it is true that their situation has no origin. Even when DBSG's three members filed a lawsuit against their company, even when Yoon Kyesang of GOD withdrew, the members did not belittle or talk down about their other member in front of their fans. On the reverse side, their fans also did not release private life accounts or personal information.
Idols can no longer just survive with the music market
When Jaebum first left for America after his Myspace controversy, what held down 2PM fans even through the boycott was the 'friendship' between the 2PM members. 2PM titled their album with Jaebum's withdrawal and even expressed their grief over broadcasts. However, what they revealed at the conference was an explanation that could not be overcome with friendship. 2PM once represented the greatest friendship between male idols but it has now been revealed that it was all a facade.
Fans have always been a great fan of the friendships between idols and their images. They still write fanfics about love and friendships and even make gif images out of the small movements of their favorite singers. The only thing that has changed is the trust.
What helped 2PM the most in gathering a fanbase was MBC EVERY1's
But now, DBSG's 4th album
The marketing of idols, the mass public is more important then the fans
Idols might be 'idols' within their fandoms, but to the mass public, they are merely 'children' that play well. These idols might be the receives of the upmost love and care within their fandoms, but in front of the public, they must become entertainers that are capable of anything and everything. Fans may be able to make their music reach #1 on charts but they cannot turn them into top stars that receives the love and attention of the public.
Omitted summary.
What's left now that the fantasy is gone?
2PM has not only agreed to the withdrawal of their own member but said it to the faces of their fans themselves at the conference. 2PM raised their voices in front of their fans, an unacceptable act regardless of the reason and situation. There has never been another idol singer that has acted the way 2PM did. They have thrown away the importance and worth of their fandom and the fans have attacked them back. The only thing that is left after the fantasy has been swept away are the tired fans that are leaving them.
As the fantasy-like images of the idols slowly crumbles down, reality also changes. The fans that revealed the harsh reality of 2PM are fans that were the most sincere and active in their activities as a fandom. And when that last fantasty is broken, the fans turn into antis. Of course, these fans may turn to other artists or become fans of other idols, but the generation of idols for 2PM is over. There are no longer people that will support them, mature them, or discover them.
These fans have heard a message of goodbye from the singers they adored themselves. What is left for the idols that must live on with the love of their fans?

It was a very long article but very good. However, I think there is an error. I think that the fans that left 2PM are not because of the fact that Park Jaebum has withdrawn completely but because of the actions 2PM showed at their conference.
Despite my older age, I have seen articles and searches come up regarding the conference and decided to listen to the conference recording myself. After having listened, I feel like the words of 2PM and their president only set the tired, helpless fans on fire.
For idols, their fandom is important... Like the journalist states, idols can no longer succeed alone with their fandom because the music market is no longer as active. If JYPE truly cut off the fandom and chose the mass public... I wonder if they really had the right to deceive their fans like tat.
For months, they used Park Jaebum like a product of promotion and advertisement and upset the fans with their hopeful torture. I feel like in the end, they should have kept their manners. To step on the dreams of a young man and to even deceive the fans, I can only view JYPE and the rest of the members as manipulative and cruel.
To the fans, Park Jaebum is a wound. It would have been better to put on medication and a band aid, not rip at it with their nails. That's how I see it.

They were able to succeed with their friendship and brotherly love. But now that it's all fake, of course they are failing. I will continue to watch how they are going to be forgotten now.

It's going to be hard for 2PM to make another image with friendship or brotherly love. The journalist in this article stated that 2PM threw away their fans for the mass public but honestly, for a group that can't even rap, sing, or have skills, the only people that can buy their stuff are the fans, not the mass public. Either way, now that their brotherly love image is down the drain, I guess only time will tell how much the mass public will take them.

2PM threw away their leader and their fans in order to choose the mass public... Now it's the mass public's turn to throw away 2PM.

In order to live, they treated Park Jaebum like trash despite knowing the feelings of fans that waited for 6 months for Jaebum's return. Those actions... those ridiculous actions a tthe conference. I would like to ask where they got their confidence from.
Remember this.
The reason fans supported the 6 members despite the boycott was because they believed Jaebum would return. The fact that they're taking it as having reached the top, the fact that they're thinking they're fine without Jaebum... is ridiculous.

Just remember this. The reason fans loved you is not because you were hotter or sang better than another artist. That's not why they loved you. It's because of the friendship and open image that you showed on Wild Bunny and Idol Army. That's why fans went to such lengths for you. You don't even know how to return the favor. Less than human beings, really.

Some kid that doesn't even knows how to sing calls him self the main vocal. Some kid that raps as well as he sh*** calls himself a rapper. Ah, someone please help save our music. I knew the celebrity world was a dirty place but I never knew that these nonamePM kids would be the ones that are rotting it.
Psychopaths that feel pleasure from being ignored by the mass public. Sociopaths that laugh at Park Jaebum. There's a thing called karma.
Whether or not it's revealed now or later, as time goes on, they will feel it soon. The crime you have just committed will all come right back to you.
They call them idols? A group that is a gathering of the worst people? They're not idols but psychos.
