As they say, it is now the Jo Kwon phase. The audience are laughing and crying just by watching him.
Jo Kwon has settled a permanent position in various entertainment programs of different broadcasts stations - SBS 'Family Outing' season 2(which is set to air coming 21st), MBC's 'We Got Married' with Brown Eyed Girls Ga-in has a reality couple and 'SaeBaKwi', and KBS 'Star King.' Famous for his "Kkap Kwon Dance," Jo Kwon is making the audience laugh just by watching him perform.
JYPE founder, Park Jin Young, was startled the first time he saw the Kkap Kwon Dance and even commented, "Why are you doing this as a ballad singer?" He was also worried if their sadness in their future songs would not be conveyed efficiently with Jo Kwon's comical image. He was the first of his type in the company.
But JoKwon has proven JYP wrong after 2AM won the Mutizen Award for "Even If I Die, I Can't Send You Away."
Fans were touched by their voices and Jo Kwon never did let his Kkap Kwon image appear during his performances. Jo Kwon's endless tears after winning until the end of the song rerun worried the fans. The main reason why JYP was so worried was because Jo Kwon has been a trainee for 8 years and he wanted the best out of Jo Kwon - and he has done it.
The audience loves Jo Kwon for never putting on a mask during his performance, be it from the "Kkap Kwon" dance or in 'We Got Married.' They all agree that Jo Kwon is very professional when it comes to differentiating his parts as he is very serious when it comes to singing ballads and never allows or reminds the audience of his Kkap Kwon image.
Actually, JYP has been paying more attention on the success of 2AM rather than brushing on Jo Kwon's sense of entertainment. Now, it comes together as offers flock in for Jo Kwon and as he appears more on TV, the face of other members naturally does as well.
It is believed that it is because of all the frequent appearances in programs like 'We Got Married' that has featured 2AM members SeulOng, JinWoon and Changmin, that has contributed to the success of "Even If I Die, I Can't Let You Go" against SNSD's "Oh!"
Sometimes although producers want to fixate a certain image for their stars, the audience nowadays really just want a natural and nice idol to look up to. Jo Kwon has been so successful as he has been very real in his appearance, with genuine smiles and tears.
The Jo Kwon today isn't one who he has made himself to be, but an example of a serious celebrity.
