[News] Popular Idol Scandals Use To Promote TV Shows?

For the past few weeks, there have been rumors involving 2PM’s Taecyeon and Girl’s Generations’s Yoona being a couple. Fans aren’t happy that this scandal is being used to promote shows (i.e. Family Outing).

The latest idol scandal floating around is that of Big Bang’s Daesung and Kara’s Jiyoung, which has been a topic on variety shows these days. Fans aren’t happy that the shows are making the issue bigger than it seems.

Daesung and Jiyoung knew each from a long time. Kara’s Jiyoung was a fan of Daesung and it was mentioned in a program that she sent some text messages to Daesung before, which ended there.

In nature, variety shows are all about fun and fans should understand this. But fans are saying they are more concerned on how these scandals are being used for the shows’ publicity.

An official from the music industry says, “Even though idol scandals help in promoting shows, fans of these stars are still young and are sensitive about these issues and don’t really like them.“

Another official says, “There will be more scandals on variety shows in the future. What’s important is to close the issue on the show and don’t make them bigger as they seem to be to avoid abusing idols’ popularity.”
