[News] Moon Geun Young, Jang Geun Suk to host SBS ‘Drama Awards’

On December 18, Moon Geun Young’s management announced that Moon Geun Young has decided to take up on the job as this year’s SBS “Drama Awards” MC, along with Jang Geun Suk. “It’d be a great honor to host this show,” they said.

According to SBS, the show will be held on Dec. 31 at 8:50 p.m. Moon Geun Young will be hosting the show along with Jang Geun Suk and Park Sun Young.

Moon Geun Young’s side has agreed to this new scheduling (I guess Han Ye Seul is out since she’s still busy filming her drama “Will it show for Christmas?”), and Jang Geun Suk is up though he was busy with the Melon Awards on the 16th.

Meanwhile, last year Moon Geun Young’s drama “Painter in the wind” won her a big prize, and they predicted that Jang Geun Suk will also be getting a prize for “You’re Beautiful”.
The news didn’t really mention anything about Han Ye Seul – which is weird – but we can safely assume that she’s out, mainly because of her conflict of schedule with her drama.

[News] Brian's drunken mistake "I sent text messages to my ex-girlfriends while i was drunk..."

Singer, Brian, confessed his drunken mistake.

On the December 19th episode of Star Golden Bell, MC Ji Sun Jin asked him, "Whas there a time you have done something when you were drunk and regretted it the next day?" and he replied, "I have sent text messages to 3 of my ex-girlfriends when I was drunk."

He sent his girlfriends the same message that said, "I think about you alot these days." The next day, he got a text message that said, "I think about oppa too, do you think we can meet again?". He didn't remember sending the text messages so he thought "What the heck? What's wrong with her?", which brought complaints from the women in the audience.

[News] Possible reality show in the works for Jaebum

Some have stated the opinion that Jaebum is warming up for his return by entering dance competitions. These opinions stem from the fact that Jaebum would not have entered if he did not discuss it with his agency, JYP Entertainment. An associate of Jaebum stated "He entered the competition knowing that the news could reach his fans back in Korea," meaning that he was fully ready to accept the attention that would come with it.

 Recently, a cable channel has began plans to go over to America and create a reality show that reveals Jaebum's plans for return. It is said to be a secret comeback show similar to Ivy's through cable channel Mnet.

JYPE has gone into production discussion with the production team but has requested for a pause in any further advancements as Jaebum's return is still not certain or planned (through an exact date). An associate of the production team stated "JYPE is not exactly against the idea of this program. They have said that they will discuss it with us again later since Jaebum's return is not yet clear."

[News] DBSK/THSK/TVXQ Earns 90.3 billion Won In Album/DVD Sales In Japan This Year

Popular group TVXQ place third in highest earning Japanese artistes in album sales in 2009.

According to Oricon’s ‘2009 Oricon Yearly Ranking’ that was released on the 18th that accumulates all singles, albums and DVDs, TVXQ placed third after Arashi and EXILE. 4th and 5th place went to B’z and the Beatles respectively.

Arashi, who placed first, earned a total of 14.6 billion Yen in single, album and DVD sales, and EXILE and TVXQ earned 12.93 billion Yen and 6.89 billion Yen (around 90.3 billion Won or $76 million) respectively.

Oricon introduced TVXQ as “The group that made the biggest leap in 2009 and is continually growing at the fastest rate,” and said, “They were perfectly balanced in all areas and this was the year fans passionately supported them.”

[News] IRIS 2 as a ‘spinoff’ story, not sequel

IRIS’s production company’s top representative was interviewed on 18th and more information on IRIS 2 was released.
IRIS 2 is likely to be released next year and it will have a different storyline and cast from season 1
IRIS 2 is not a sequel, but rather, a spinoff story
The casting for the spinoff story is already taking place. It is likely that the cast will be announced from early Jan 2010 onwards


When asked about a continuation of the storyline line in IRIS 1, he replied that it is difficult to pinpoint a time for such a sequel and it may be ‘after 2 or 3 years’.  He added that he would like to retain the original cast and it is likely that the N.Korea-S.Korea issue dealt with in IRIS may undergo changes during this time too. He would like to make a sequel in accordance to the state of affairs then.

Meanwhile, the rights to IRIS has been sold to 7 Asian countries (including Japan) and talks with America and Europe are undergoing.

[News] Park Jin Young, “I gained desires from ‘Again & Again’.”

Coming as a singer from being a producer, Park Jin Young (37) talks about how he had gained desire from 2PM’s hit song ‘Again & Again’.

On KBS Entertainment Weekly aired on 19th December, Park Jin Young was featured in the corner ‘Star Zoom In’ and he said, “I thought of 2PM while I wrote ‘Heartbeat’.” and currently the song ‘Heartbeat’ has been gaining greatly popularity amongst music fans.

He added, “I really liked ‘Again & Again’. I wanted to do it.” Even though he produced the song ‘Again & Again’, he had the desires to sing it personally.

So on the show, he had performed and sang his own ballad version of the song on the keyboard.

Meanwhile, Park Jin Young mentioned during the interview about his great passion for the stage, “If you want to fulfil your dreams, even if you lose everything, you will still long for it in our heart.”

[News] SuJu Siwon Attends An Acquaintance’s Wedding, Headline News on Taiwan Media

Super Junior – M once again proved its popularity through their activities in Chinese speaking countries.

Siwon decorated the front page of the recent issue of one of Taiwan’s most influential media “Liberty Times” (Korean Entertainment). It is reported that Siwon attended the wedding of his two acquaintances which was held in Taiwan. He was seen together with actress Lin Chi-ling in both the ceremony as well as the reception.

SJ-M’s successful album promotion in China as well as his own appearance in a Japan-China joint venture film “Battle of the Wits” are more than enough to make people recognize Siwon for his amazing skill as a star.

The attention he got from the local paparazzi was so intense that the Taiwan entertainment were concerned of the damage it could provoke to his privacy. In addition, he is known for his “idol star” appearance and a “Crown Prince-level” popularity among local female fans.

On the 19th, an official from SM Entertainment stated, “Super Junior-M is now a highly-demanded group, all for their activities in the Chinese speaking countries.” They also added, “Siwon as well as SJ-M have garnered great interest of local fans.”
