[news] Toronto Preview Screening of Ninja Assassin Monday, Future Events & Locations

The highly anticpated new movie directed by James McTeigue, Ninja Assassin, begins its screenings.

This movie is not the first time that McTeigue has worked with Rain. In the past, McTeigue and Rain have worked together to make the movie Speed Racer, which received 8 nominations. Some reviews are claiming that Ninja Assassin is one of the best martial arts film since The Matrix. Can we also expect Ninja Assassin to pick up a few nominations this year?

The upcoming screening will take place at the AMC Theater Dundas and Yonge on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 6PM in Toronto, Canada. Also, Rain is expected to be at this screening. Ladies, here's your chance to meet him.

Synopsis:
Ninja Assassin follows Raizo (Rain), one of the deadliest assassins in the world. Taken from the streets as a child, he was transformed into a trained killer by the Ozunu Clan, a secret society whose very existence is considered a myth. But haunted by the merciless execution of his friend by the Clan, Raizo breaks free from them and vanishes. Now he waits, preparing to exact his revenge.

In Berlin, Europol agent Mika Coretti (Naomie Harris) has stumbled upon a money trail linking several political murders to an underground network of untraceable assassins from the Far East. “Leaving the company is the second trial which is harder from the debut time.”

“It will be hard, like having to debut all over again.”

Andy, member of idol group Shinhwa with the longest career, who is in the middle of his solo activities, revealed his “personal opinion” about TVXQ’s situation which is a hot issue in the K-pop world.

Andy who debuted in 1999 under the same company as TVXQ, SM Entertainment, as Shinhwa, has gained lots of popularity. But as soon as the exclusive contract was over, he and the rest of the members had to move to another entertainment company and continuously did activities with passion.

Recently,in the interview with Sports Dong-A, Andy cautiously stated “I sincerely would like TVXQ and their fans who have been with them since the beginning to get back together and continue their activities." and “They should know that if they find another way, they have to start all over again.”

The days after leaving Shinhwa's debut company, Andy says, “It was a great difficulty,” and stressed “They should know that when they leave their debut company, it takes more effort and it is two - three times harder than when they first debuted.”

While Shinhwa’s group activity is on hold due to its members on army service, Andy has continued with his solo activities and scouted new singers, and has turned into a CD producer. In his own company, he has assembled a casting team, and together with (the casting team) has been searching for new entertainers/trainees.

Because of this, Andy is looking at the music industry as a producer. With his experience, he added, "Idol groups that gained popularity quickly think that their efforts are what's important, but still thinking that it is dangerous,"and "You must acknowledge the fact that the company has capabilities and talent."

Its Park Bom solo activities-style post again! I'm glad to cover not just her performance outfit but also her Music Video outfit.


Remember the awesome kick-a*s jacket Bom wore for her "You And I" MV? A very unique leather jacket wth graffiti and a scarf on it. Its designed by Charles Anastase for his Fall 2009 Ready To Wear Collection. Notice the jacket has intricate details which makes it unique. What Park Bom wore was a little different from the runway version..

Born to an academic French mother and Armenian architect father, Charles Anastase initially studyied political science at Paris' Lycee Charlemagne. However, in 2002 he decided his future lay in being an artist.

His skill in pencil drawing led to successful exhibitions in Paris, Vienna, Tokyo and Mexico. And his work was published in avant-garde magazines such as Purple and Dazed And Confused.

When he was asked by Calvin Klein to illustrate a 2004 advertising campaign, he career path took a different turn.

Charles' designs, which are favoured by Keira Knightley, Chloe Sevigny and Emma Watson, are inspired by 19th century Victoriana, with an emphasis on attention to detail and precise tailoring.

Reporter: Felt your popularity recently?
Jung Yong Hwa: I was recognized by the students when I was in a restaurant. The elder people do not know me. But many students recognize me.

Reporter: In real life, is there any difference between Jung Yong Hwa and Kang Shin Woo?
Jung Yong Hwa: Kang Shin Woo is a very mature and careful man. In fact, in real life, I’m usually a naughty guy and fond of making jokes.

Reporter: How do you look at your nickname given by your fans?
Jung Yong Hwa: Shin Woo is a very good role in the drama. So people called me “Towel Guy”. I am fine with it. (Nickname was given as he covered Go Mi Nam with a towel in the man shower room)

Reporter: What do you like most about yourself?
Jung Yong Hwa: I’m not a double eyelid person but my eyes are relatively big, so I like and have confident in my eyes. (Having a embarrassed smile after saying that)

Reporter: What kind of role do you like to act in future?

Acting as the leader of A.N.JELL and a musical talent in Korean TV drama ‘You’re Beautiful’, the scripts has never left Jang Geun Suk’s hand. In fact, photos of him reading and bringing the scripts every where he goes has become an open topic for fans.

Jang Geun Suk expressed: “The moment when I received the scripts, it has never leave my hand. Even when I fall asleep, the scripts was left on my face. The filming of the drama was not in the order shown in the TV. So I can lose the feeling easily. In order to connect to the feelings in the drama, I must constantly read the scripts.”

One of the production team member said: “Jang Geun Suk looks just like a third year student studying the reference books. In this case he is studying the scripts. He watchs his scenes carefully and exchange views with the director.

The team member gave his praises to Jang Geun Suk: “He does his own thinking and research on ‘Hwang Tae Kyung’ role. Jang Geun Suk added in good faith and shown signs of distress in his acting skills.”

Jang Geun Suk’s company representative said: “After receiving the scripts, Jang Geun Suk will focus on the main scene. He will also use a red pen to draw line in order to differentiate and analyze the role. Just like a student having his examinations.”

[news]Boybands take over half of the Kpop Stage

The Kpop scene has taken a change, from the ‘war’ of the girlgroups which went on for the first half of the year, now is the time of the boy groups.

Just looking at the performance list for KBS Music Bank on 13th November, we have 2PM comeback stage, and also performances by FT Triple, BEAST, SHINee, UKiss, SHU-I etc. And there is also SS501 and MBLAQ who did not perform on the show that day.

And backstage, you can see the boy group members giving out their CDs and because they are all from the same age range, it was obvious that the members are close friends with one another.

Also, you can see the boys dancing and singing along when other boy bands are performing on stage.

We see a start of a change of scene on the Kpop stage with the boy groups coming back in action.

Remember how these folks were the talk of the Kpop town earlier this year?

[news]Fans show negative reaction to Ivy & 2PM MAMA stage

Fans have been expressing their surprise over the expected MAMA stage between 2PM and Ivy. After switching their name to MAMA after 10 years of being MKMF, MAMA revealed plans on having Ivy and 2PM have a joint performance as part of a surprise event stage.

Although some have been showing curiosity with comments such as "Is this true?" and "I wonder what's going to happen," the general reaction from fans seem to be negative, after the performance shown by TOP and Lee Hyori last year. "They better not do something like last year's concert," and "It may be their own business but I can't accept this!"

MAMA will take place on the 21st at Jamshil Stadium.

[news/video]Two previews for MBC’s Hero

MBC released another trailer for the upcoming Hero this week, so there are now two separate preview videos for the comedy-action series. The good news is, despite the numerous problems plaguing the production, I think the footage looks pretty smooth, and the newest cast member, Yoon So-yi, seems to be fine in her role even though she had about a year less preparation time than its star, Lee Junki. If I’d seen the trailers not knowing of the backstory with its leading actress(es), I wouldn’t think it was of any lesser quality than normal.
